Last night Firefox on my laptop performed an automatic Firefox update.. The Firefox that was installed can only display a single tab. This is a major for me, since I normally work with multiple tabs. This problem may impact a large number of Firefox users. The documented recommended fix for this problem did not fix the problem.

When I start my computer I want my "startup" tabs to open in the order I want; [app.Inbox.com, AOL.com, mail.google.com (xxx00xxx@gmail.com), mail.google.com (xxxxxx00@gmail.com)]. ALSO ‘sometimes’ at startup TWO tabs for app.Inbox.com appear and I don't want that.

When using a tab inside a collapsed tab group, if "open link in new tab" option is used, the tab group expands unprompted. As a result I have to keep collapsing the tab group again and again and again, slowing down the browsing experience. Is there a fix for it?

How can I expand horizontal pinned tabs? This tiny icons that now appear are useless, especially if you want multiple Google tabs, i.e. for search, maps, mail, they all appear as the Google "G"

I haven't been able to move tabs around for days. Not since I tried to take some 'out' to make a new window, and Firefox straight up crashed ...repeatedly. After I gave up, I noticed the tabs no longer moved.

I ignored it a few days, but its frankly very annoying! I checked for answers & found an old post from 5 yrs ago here & followed the advice. Or I tried to, but when I checked "browser.tabs.allowTabDetach" in "about:config" it was already set to "true". I even toggled it a few times (I even tried to see if it would move when set to false! ...counterintuitive, but I figured it was worth a try?)

Anyhow "browser.tabs.allowTabDetach" is still set to true, and I'm not about to go monkeying with all that :\

(fair warning, while I know how to alter a config under clear instructions ...my experience with such things starts and ends with the config files for Stardew Valley mods)

I have about 50 url’s on my address bar which open every time I login. I delete them one by one but next time they pop up again. I tried using the settings but no help. Any ideas how to stop them popping up when I login? This is something that only happened recently. Never before.

What have you done to the Settings feature? It's a mess with those weird little icons on the side. I am just trying to figure out why my tabs keep closing on me. I can have about six tabs open with intention of going back to them, and then..poof.. they disappear. I went into Settings to see what I might have changed but I can't figure this out.

my laptop was on the internet but nothing would load so i restarted it and my windows always auto open and it did but my tabs were empty,not like when you open a new window i mean full empty so a restarted again and i could load tabs but my window was not in recently closed

In the past, when I would click on a link on my home page, the link would open in a new tab, but I would stay on my home page so that I could look at the opened link later. Now when I click on a link on my home page, it doesn’t open in a new tab, but rather opens the link in the same tab that I was viewing my home page on. I have checked my settings, and everything appears to be how I want it. I believe that the "Open links from apps next to your active tab" is the setting that should accomplish what I want. I do have it checked, and yet it won't open my links in a new tab. How do I get links to open in a new tab?

I love vertical the tab view. Unfortunately, on one of my systems, vertical tabs to not render correctly. Groups are shown, but there are no favicons or titles shown (see attached image). The tabs are also not clickable. Any insight into how I could debug that would be amazing!

Firefox opens as it should but it opens with two additional tabs showing. How do I prevent this. What setting/s do I manipulate to prevent opening multiple tabs on start up? windows 11 / HP Omnibook, new purchase initial set up of FireFox.

My last automatic upgrade to Firefox installed a version of Firefox that allows only 1 tab.. This is very frustrating. I need multiple tabs. I searched for solutions, but have not been able to fix the problem. I have used Firefox for over 10 years. Please help change Firefox to support multiple tabs, or I am going to have to find an alternative to Firefox. Having multiple tabs is critical to me.

Is it a bug? Is there a way to turn it off? It's too easy for me to accidentally close a tab this way. I cannot reproduce in Troubleshoot Mode but I can't find any setting or installed extension that seems to control it.

I have horizontal tabs in Firefox 152.0.4 on a Macbook with Tahoe 26.5.1. My tabs have suddenly reversed order, so that the most recent ones are at the left and the older ones towards the right. Strangely, if I open a new tab it appears to the right of the current tab. I tried closing Firefox and reopening, but it did not change anything. Is there a way to restore usual order of tabs so that the newer ones are at the right?

Firefox restores a window session from before the last time I closed the browser every time I start the browser.

At one point after reinstalling firefox I had two windows open with tabs in each. I closed the one window first with a couple worthless tabs in it before using the other tab that I'd used to continue browsing and continuing my various tab groups. Ever since then, EVERY TIME I launch firefox it launches that other window with its tabs first, although allows me to "restore previous session" overwriting all but the base tab. How the hell do I get it to fucking stop doing this? I just want the last window I closed to be the "previous session" but every single damn time it launches this unwanted window and tabs as the default! I've tried countless times to close the entire browser with the window I want but it still reverts to the previous window!
