I really do like the new colors and I switch between them often. What is motivating you to remove them starting with Firefox 96? Do I really have to turn off auto update to make sure I have my favorite Colorway enabled before the update?

You've adopted two common phrases and tried to apply them to Colorways:

1 - "limited time only" - This usually means you just have to acquire it during a limited time window; you don't lose it after the time window has passed.

2 - "limited edition" - This usually means a limited number of people can acquire it.

Based on my understanding, neither phrase applies to your Colorways offering.

Would you please reconsider? Mozilla is one of my year-end charitable contributions; does that give me any more clout? :)

Hello, I listed this is the "Other" section because it involves more than just installation of Firefox. I am using version 97.0.2 and will be installing the most current version within a day or so. I have NO issues with the current version, nor expect any with any future updates I install. With that being stated I will ask my question...

I have a CCTV setup at my home that have the feature of web remote viewing and control. I don't use any other browser other than Firefox...have uninstalled both IE11 and Edge, blocking Edge from being reinstalled. I can NOT use the CCTVs remote web feature because their software is out-dated and I suspect unsupported any longer. I have already downloaded and installed the Firefox required web plug-in but the version of Firefox is TOO NEW. The Software suggested that I install an older version of the 32-Bit Firefox, version 56 or 57 if my memory is correct...

I current Firefox is 64-Bit, installed on the C Drive. Can I install a second Firefox, 32-Bit on perhaps my D or E Drive without corrupting my 64-Bit install and profile? I understand that doing so, and using the older version then there would be a security issue fore prolonged browsing. But, when using this older version to access my CCTV...once done, I would no longer browse with that older version of Firefox. A temporary and quick solution. A 10 minute browsing in a once in a great while exception.

Your feedback and support would be greatly appreciated?

I'm using JetBrains IDEs for developing and those has a built-in option to show currently edited code in different browsers like chrome, edge, ff, safari etc. I use this feature, but after I've installed Firefox from Microsoft Store instead of stand alone installer, the IDE can't resolve Firefox's install path. Where should I search for it?

This past weekend my bookmark bar disappeared and won't show up again. Yes, its turned on to "Always Show."

I realized that for some reason I was no longer signed into Firefox. I restarted my PC and it was fixed, but then did the same thing again and I was signed out.

I have 2FA and also changed my password just to be safe, but its still stuck on "Working" on the sign-in (unless I come to 'Help' section?). I did get to where it was going to send me a code in my e-mail and the e-mail isn't showing up either...so I don't know what to do.

I'd like to use Firefox, but right now without access to a number of features I can't. I've attached an image with where it gets stuck.

EVERY time Firefox does an update just about everything changes for me, including my homepage, my icons for add ons are gone, now my link to my email is gone, I always wonder if I'm on the correct version or not. It says I am but what happened to all of my settings. I cannot tell you the number of times I've had to find my THEME and since there is no rhyme or reason as to how the themes are categorized it takes me forever to find the one I want. It doesn't seem to matter what settings I have entered because they are changed along with everything else. I have asked this question before and the answers I have received do not work. And another question. I do not like the background in "black" with the titles highlighted in yellow when I am searching. Very difficult for me to read, I've attempted to change that many times but can't seem to figure that out either. Oh, Lord where is Microsoft 7 when I need it? An OS that even I could figure out.

Perhaps finding the glitch in the changes that always take place after an update should be your next update.

Hello

I asked this question about a year ago and no malware was detected on the effected computers

On a number of our computers in the directory user-->username-->AppData-->Roaming-->Mozilla-->Firefox-->Profiles--> Random letters and Numbers.default a File prefs1 keeps getting so large it fills up the drive.

In order to delete the file I need to first stop Microsoft Windows Based Script Host

Any thoughts on how to stop this problem from filling up the drive

Just to advise after the recent update to Mozilla Firefox v96.0.1 there was a problem with Internet connection not then being available from Firefox.

For extra privacy I have Win 10x64 Pro set to the free Cloudflare free use DNS settings of 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1 and this has worked just fine for several months now.

However, since the update as above, Firefox could no longer connect to the Internet.

However, my other Browsers: SeaMonkey and Tor worked just fine.

For security reasons, I never use Chrome, Edge or Safario, as they are basically insecure.

Thinking there was a router problem, I reset that with the pin through the reset hole at the rear, and rebooted the PC.

No further ahead, and I knew it was not a Malware problem either, as I use very good AntiMalware Software.

I switched off the fiber box for 10 minutes, restarted it, no change, Firefox still could not connect.

Aha, a look through the Firefox Settings > Network and checked the DNS setting, which had been default set by Firefox to "CIRA Canadian Shield (By Default)" - That was NOT the setting I had placed into the Win10 Operating System.

Cloudflare was the second option there, so I selected that.

I didn't try the third option of "Next DNS".

Saved the setting (Option 2 Cloudflare)

Rebooted the PC, and no further troubles.

That CIRA Canadian Shield (Default) by Firefox was a trap I hadn't run into.

Just thought you may wish to put this in an appropriate place, as a warning to others.

Experienced with all Windows O/S since 1993, every style of O/S Microsoft has had available, plus much other Software.

This is the first unexpected problem ever I've had with Mozilla Firefox.

I run this PC 24/7, never turned off except for a reboot.

I can run some Firefox 25+ Windows and a total of over 150 Tabs, Run SeaMonkey and Tor with over 100 Tabs between them, and can still do other work.

Pleaty of RAM and SSD's for Operating Systems, backup to HDD's for longevity.

Still using 20+ year old HDD's still good, but they don't thermally cycle (Always on except for reboots), and I am interested to see how long before a failure of one of them =- I just stor DATA on these old HDD's (Copy from elsewhere, so it doesn't matter if I have a failure of an old HDD.

Cheers from a Far-Away-Land (Zealandia SupraContinent)

Hi all, due to the sometimes quite rude tone in the german forum, I dare to ask my question here: Since the last update to FF 95.x a few weeks ago, I have this strange behaviour with some fonts, as e.g. Manrope, Lato and others (mostly from Google). Parts of the types are white (refer to the screenshot). I'm using Mac OS 10.15.17. Is this a known issue - and is there a remedy? Thanks so much, Martin

Hello,

hope this is a good place to ask about my issue with the new version Firefox version 99:

For showing images on a website I create divs with css3d rendered png background-images (scaled down through css transforms from 1000px x 1000px) and later apply css filters eg. "filter:drop-shadow(red 10px 10px 10px)".

Tested on various Win10 and MacOs machines with v98.0.2 and older, images get displayed with a drop-shadow in best quality. Updating to v99, once any filter gets applied (through dev console or through js within my software) the image quality is reduced a lot, which did not happen before. I attached a sample image from v99 (left: added filter, right: same image without filter).

When scaling the websites zoom factor to 500% the images will be displayed correctly without any quality loss. Scaling to 30% results in a very bad render.

I tried applying image-rendering to no avail. It would visibly change the render mode, but not improve the actual quality. The pixelated image would still be pixelated with the new render mode.

I'm not sure how to further tackle this problem and hope someone could help with this issue.

Thanks Max

I'm having an issue where Firefox (Linux, 96.0.3) will crash after it's been running for a while but no crash report is generated. This is on an older Intel NUC with 2GB RAM running Clear Linux and intended to be used as a digital sign. No other applications are running. There is only a single tab loading a single page from localhost. No extensions are installed. The page is a simple layout using CSS grid. Javascript is used to create a slider with four slides, to cycle through a series of videos hosted locally, and periodically check for content updates. Below is the JS in it's entirety.

My feeling is that it's a memory issue, possibly to do with the video playlist, but I've been monitoring memory usage via about:performance and the tab with the sign has never used more than about 5MB. I've also been monitoring the system resources via htop and I've never seen it go higher than about 1000MB. How can I track down this issue?

Thanks in advance!

<script>

   const swiper = new Swiper('.swiper', {
       autoplay:{delay:10000},

   let video = document.querySelector('video'),
       source = video.querySelector('source'),
       vids = Object.values(JSON.parse('!getVideos')),
       i = 1; //start at 1 instead of 0 because the first is already playing

       source.src = vids[i++];
       if(i == vids.length) i = 0;
       video.load();
       video.play();
   });

   //check for content updates
   let seconds = 60,
       lastUpdate = null;

       let req = new Request('~6'),
           headers = new Headers();

       headers.append('cache-control', 'no-store, must-revalidate');

       fetch(req, {method:'GET', headers:headers})
           .then(response => response.json())
           .then(data => {
               let updated = JSON.stringify(data)
               if(lastUpdate === null) lastUpdate = updated;

Is it possible to password protect one specific tab?

I have a tab with my gmail open, and I use google to login to other sites, so it is sensitive. Some months ago my computer was remotely hacked and someone could get into my mail through firefox when I was not using it. I would prefer not having to log out every other minute and keep receiving email notifications, but make it impossible for someone to open that tab and poke around.

Note: I use Malwarebytes Premium since then, so maybe this is no longer necessary.
