When I open a website from a shortcut in my desktop (Win Pro 25H2) the link works perfectly and the site opens. However, a dropdown box opens from the address bar and displays all the URL of every page I've visited within that site. I can click on the site page (away from the dropdown list) and the the dropdown list then closes. Is there a way to turn this annoying thing off?

Websites, die ich viel öfter besuche, tauchen dort aber nicht auf. Was kann ich tun? Danke für die Hilfe.

When I type map into address bar, maps.app.goo.gl becomes the autofill. I'd want to delete it. However, shift-delete does not take effect. I checked history and did not find it.

How can I delete it?

My Firefox is not showing search suggestions/autocomplete when I search for a term in the search bar. First screenshot is what I see, second screenshot is from Chrome. Third screenshot is my settings.

I would like to continue using Firefox, but this is extremely infuriating.

When a system-wide VPN application (not built into Firefox) is enabled, the behavior of the address bar changes: on the first click, it only shows 5 sites (Top Sites), instead of the usual 9. After pressing the Spacebar, the list from browsing history loads normally. The problem persists after turning off the VPN and only disappears after a full restart of Firefox. My question is simple, how i can remove the possibility to have the text suggestion when i need to type something that have something in memory (like the screenshot)

The title says it all. I use Firefox on my home computer with Windows 10, and my work laptop using Windows 11. At home, URLs do not autocomplete when typing them in--settings are all on for this to work properly, and it used to work properly, but it does not work at all. At work, URLs complete just fine.

I noticed that after the latest update, searching with the address bar no longer works as smoothly: autocomplete suggestions only appear in the bar when typing in a single character on a new tab, rather than updating with each additional keystroke. The suggestion only appears upon unselecting and reselecting the address bar. (see uploaded images)

Also, the search suggests seem to regenerate the entire dropdown menu with each keystroke, resulting in an unpleasant "flickering" appearance. It's not the biggest deal, but I don't recall firefox (mis)behaving this way before.

Can anyone help me with this?

I have Firefox, then suddenly it switched over to Google.... a little google icon has appeared in the search window ... it drives me crazy... I have google news (absolute BS). How can I permanently remove google from my PC and LIFE? Please help...

Hi! I recently had to reinstall Firefox. Logged into the same Mozilla account I've been using for several years, with pretty much the same config files I've been using since I switched to Linux, and suddenly--for the first time in at least a year--Firefox has (again) started trying to "fix" searches I put into the address bar that aren't prefaced with a search engine. How do I turn this off? (For example, if I go to the address bar and type in "cats" I get directed to a page like the first attached screenshot. If I type in "@google cats" I get directed to the second attached screenshot...)

I'm pretty sure I've disabled everything in prefs.js that relates to that. Um. Feature? But clearly I haven't been able to disable it yet! So.

I reset basically everything to see if I could get it to stop predicting what site I wanted to go to and it still does it. Cleared the history, turned off syncing, closed tabs on other devices before I turned off syncing. I see on setting for autofill address bars etc. Mobile firefox settings are reduced it seems. I am on IOS if that matter. I don't know what else would be useful.

How do I change the site addresses that come up when I click the address bar? Time was I got a list of sites that I use often, perhaps several time in a day. I still use those sites but some have been replaced by addresses that I've used once or twice and probably won't use again for months. Where's the sense behind identifying as a "favourite" something I use twice in a week but not again and throwing out something I use week in and week out. How do I get rid of these interlopers?
