As soon as i start my computor with firefox i get this message: Warning you have virus. You must install re-captha-version-3-49.top. What is that? I have norton and norton says no virus. What shall i do?

  I do genealogy and often have 20 or more WINDOWS (not tabs) open simultaneously.  I also rapidly type, copy/paste, between windows, etc. and can instantly detect slowdowns - especially irksome when the mouse disappears for seconds while the system is working.  I keep history and cookies...reminds me of pages I've already looked at when color change is enabled.
  After crashing a hard drive, I finally realized that Firefox was accessing the disk WAY too much.  Even with the system static (no page changes or updates), it was continually writing to disk.  Occasionally, it would take over the disk system for seconds.  Over time (years), as you guys improved, it became less significant; just broken up into lots and lots of small accesses.  Researched quite a bit...

  Started with increasing the sessionstore interval, but still was an issue.

To solve MOST of the problem, I saw a help note. I created and set to FALSE

browser.sessionstore.enabled

Plus modified several other sessionstore items This helped a lot...

   BUT this did NOT regulate sqlite storage for third-party stuff.

This is probably handled and hidden under another config section/ keyword (not called 'sessionstore', but '??thirdpartystore??' or what?) The following profile files are still handling a LOT of writes. I use Ancestry as example (the worst offender actually), but applies to other sites also.

.default-release\storage\default\https+++www.ancestry.com\ls\data.sqlite-journal ...
or occasionally
\https+++accounts.google.com ...

Just for these accesses, looking at 100k writes every second, like pulses. This is with only one window open and a static (no change) page. What changes on a genealogy page that requires updating every second = this is a list of dead people?? Finally, my question(s): What config sections and "keywords" handle these third party writes? Any clue/hint on how to eliminate?

Most internet sites I go to open up at 120% - this page did - FB opens up at 84% Some of my programs, when opened, has text at top so small I can hardly read it with my glasses - Xara is an example. I can find no way to change any of this.

Firefox is pissing me off. I want to disable SSL security checks long enough to do what needs doing. I'm working from a container so there's really no risk, just need the browser to do what I want not what 'It' wants.

All items except but the top one (privacy) in the right-side menu in vimeo are partially hidden and so not fully functional. This problem does not occur in Microsoft Edge, and so it evidently is a Firefox problem. My system: AMD 3900X Running Windows 10 Home, Nvidia GTX950 graphics card, 32 GB memory, The image is a reduced-size screenshot from a 1920 x 1080 monitor. Adjusting the width of the window for Friefox has no effect on the problem.

Our computers have the latest Firefox (v120.0.1) and Microsoft Defender Security Portal is flagging them as having an EOS (End of Support) Firefox version. (See attachment). I don't see an announcement in the Mozilla Website about Firefox getting retired. Would you have information about this? Should I be concerned about this?

In Google Drive I cannot download a Google Drive Folder which is owned or shared with me. I get the error message Download failed/Zip failed. When I sign into Google Drive, I get a "There were some problems loading your apps" notification pop-up.

I have tried the same action in another browser (Edge) and it works. In firefox I have to resort to going inside the folder and downloading each file individually, which is painstakingly time-consuming.

Things that I have tried and it still failed to work:

• Restarting computer
• Different internet connection
• Cleared cache and cookies
• Delete all history and site settings
• Disabling adblock
• Disabling all extenstions and restarting browser
• Turn of ETP (Enhanced tracking protection)
• Switching strict protection in cookie settings to standard
• Adding cross-site cookies exceptions for google.com, https://googleusercontent.com, https://drive.google.com
• Logging out of Google, clearing cache and cookies, and signing back into account

So I just picked up a new laptop (ASUS Vivobook 16x), and everything is fresh on it. Additionally, this only affects some video content in Firefox, with Edge browser unaffected. In brief, what is happening is that within a couple hours of having the browser open, certain video content stops working, specifically Twitter/X videos just spin, YouTube previews stop working, and videos continually load. Netflix videos continue to work, but hover previews stop functioning. I even check the 'Stats for Nerds' on YT and it shows 0 KB network activity in Firefox.

I've tried every basic action I can think of:

• Turning off extensions (only use Ublock and Bitwarden)
• Browser Refresh (x3)
• Reverting from 120.1 to 120.0, and now 199.0.1
• Clearing the browser cache
• Reinstalling NVidia and Intel Drivers
• Running in Safe Mode

Only by doing a refresh or completely closing/opening the app gets videos to function again. This doesn't affect the old laptop or my desktop, which makes me think it's a rogue driver--but then why would Edge function without error over the same period of time?

Are there any settings to play with in the browser that can help diagnose?
