please forgive me for asking again, but I REALLY need my addons to work. Firefox disabled my addons, forcing me to upgrade to a version of firefox that I don't need, since the old one was working just fine. The new version does not seem to appear to have downloaded properly, and neither version is allowing my addons to work or be re-installed. Please explain it to me like I am 5 years old, and help me to get this fixed without losing any of my info that might be stored in the addons.

 Thank you.

I have been using container tabs to juggle my corporate and personal github accounts. Until very recently, clicking a link from another app (email, etc) would start to open a new tab and then pop up a dialog asking me to confirm which container to use (see first attachment).

Unfortunately, now when I click on links it just loads straight to my "OSS github" container, which naturally produces a 404 error because my personal github account doesn't have access to the corporate repo (see second attachment).

At first, I thought I had accidentally clicked the "remember my decision" box. But the confirmation dialog still works if I open a new tab and paste the link in the address bar. It just doesn't work when other apps try to open a link in Firefox.

Is the new behavior intentional? Or did something accidentally break?

Hello all,

I just received my new Windows 11 computer and I'm setting up Firefox to my liking. I have sync turned on, but some of my settings didn't sync, (possibly because none of my other PCs are turned on?). Anyway, that's not the issue I'm writing about; I was checking the DNS over HTTPS to see what the setting was. The status showed "active" and the setting was set on "default protection".

I changed it to "max protection" but later decided to switch it back to default protection. When I did, the status now showed "inactive". I switched it back and forth between max and default, and the status change from active to inactive each time.

I read that DNS over HTTPS can show inactive under the following conditions: Firefox detects errors or certain network conditions like VPN, parental controls, enterprise policies that tell Firefox not to use DoH. I have a VPN turned on, but it is only active when I'm connected to an unsecured network, and the on/off toggle for the VPN shows "turn on", indicating that it is off and waiting for a network that has a weak security key.

Did I mistakenly think I saw active when it was actually inactive when I first checked the status of the DNS over HTTPS? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Have been having an issue for the past month or two where if left in the background firefox will slowly start to eat up my available ram. I was using it like this perfectly fine for years previous to now.

I dont have this issue when I'm actively using it, only when I tab away from it and specifically its not on screen. Once I tab back to firefox the ram usage immediately dips back down to normal. I have tried many things to try and solve this like doing a clean install of firefox, getting rid of extensions, clearing my browser cache, closing all other apps to verify it was just firefox, clearing my history, turning on hardware acceleration. Nothing seems to help, im really at a loss and I don't understand what changed besides it being updated in the past couple of months.

My computer is fairly heavy duty and I have 16gb of ddr4 ram that again was working perfectly fine to run firefox before these past couple of months. As a result of this issue however if left in the background for too long on accident firefox uses up all my idle ram and starts causing other programs to not be able to run and has even crashed my computer previously when trying to run a program like clip studio paint.

I have noticed that while running the firefox task manager there is definitely some difference in memory usage when i tab back in after letting it be in the background so I have attached screenshots of the regular usage while tabbed in and the captured usage when i tab back in.

Any possible solution is welcome because I really enjoy using firefox and i dont want to have to switch browsers unless absolutely necessary.

I’m running into a limitation with Firefox profiles involving the original Profile Manager (about:profiles) and the new Profiles menu in the toolbar.

I previously created multiple profiles using the original Profile Manager (about:profiles), for example profiles A, B, and C. These profiles still function normally and can be launched through about:profiles, but they do not appear in the new Profiles menu in the toolbar.

I also tried using the “Copy this profile” option available from the new Profiles menu. This made it clear that the feature does not work with profiles created via about:profiles. For example, when I open profile A, I expected that I could use “Copy this profile” to copy profile A into an existing profile like profile B (which was also created using about:profiles). However, this is not possible. Profiles A, B, and C remain isolated from the new Profiles menu and cannot be accessed, copied, or managed through it.

At the moment, profiles created with the original Profile Manager (about:profiles) can only be accessed through that manager and cannot be transferred into the new Profiles menu in the toolbar.

Is there an official fix or a workaround that achieves the same result—specifically, transferring or integrating all existing profiles created with the original Profile Manager (about:profiles) into the new Profiles menu accessible from the Firefox toolbar?
