I can't delete and replace Roaming>Mozilla>Firefox folder with a backup copy in Windows 11-- I get an other-program-using error.

I have done this many times before in Windows 10 and it always works beautifully. In Windows 11, however, I get an error about another program using a file in the folder. If I try to delete the folder I get a message about needing permissions from user (for clarity, the user account is an administrator). Now I am also very familiar with Windows permissions. I checked and administrators already have full privileges on the folder. Even if I explicitly add my particular user, nothing changes. I have done some other sleuthing but nothing helps identify the problem.

A bit of context – I just bought a new Dell, rather high-end and expensive laptop so I am really not amused at the fact that I can't just port in all of the stuff in the Firefox folder so I don't have to lose everything related to Firefox from my previous laptop. I do nightly Acronis backups so I have the folder and files but somehow Windows 11 is not letting me do my usual substitute backup copy of Firefox folder for new fresh-install Firefox folder.

Please — help — I had hoped that I could use the Acronis Universal Restore feature to move everything over from my old system to my new hardware — I've done that before. Unfortunately that wasn't an option given that the new machine comes with Windows 11.

I see other people have been having problems related to this folder with Windows 11 but I don't see any solution — again, please help!

Hello, I try to install extensions but when I click on the jigsaw icon it doesn't display the menu where you can pin extension to the toolbar but it brings me to the extension repository where you can install extension. It is weird because before it works suddenly it doesn't anymore. I see this error in the console, don't know if related

In the most recent version of the firefox when I switch to full screen other displays go blank. I'm using firefox on a macbook and before updating firefox I had no problem.

is there any workaround to this problem?

Every time I turn on my computer or try to access G Mail and Google Calendar, I have to sign in. This did not happen in previous versions (I am now using 124.0).

Can anyone explain why this is so? I am missing something?

At one site that I visit daily where multiple pictures sometimes can be scrolled horizontally, I can't scroll down or up with the keyboard. The Page Up/Down keys change their functions and scroll the pictures horizontally instead of making the page scroll up or down. I have to use up/down arrows until I reach a point where there are no multiple lateral pictures to get the expected function from the scroll keys. Is there a setting or other way to prevent horizontal scrolling using the Page Up/Down keys?

Hi, its been a while now that I've noticed every version of FF doesn't work that well with Facebook. For example, I'm scrolling through posts and when I click on a picture to open the post, the mouse click area is miles out to close pop up windows etc. It only happens on some posts but a majority is this issue.

Anyone else has this problem? FB via Chrome works fine.

Macbook Pro, Sonoma 14.1.2. I updated Firefox in the beginning of March. Since then it will not allow me to access site on the internet when I have ExpressVPN enabled. ExpressVPN works with Safari. I have spent over an hour working with a VPN tech. It's fine. The only change was updating Firefox. Since then I have removed and re-installed both Firefox and ExpressVPN. How do I resolve this?

When I try to sign in to Delta.com, on my Macbook air, where I have an account and go there frequently, today I cannot access. Even when I try to reset my password, the page will not respond. I tried the same on Safari, and it worked just fine.

so the problem has to be with Firefox, not with Delta.

Why do pdf bookmarks with # and the name of the bookmark like #chapter 1 not work? Bookmarks with # and page=3 work correctly. The bookmark-names works in chrome and edge.

The book mark menu option (displaying the bookmark menu and allowing selection) has disappeared from the book mark tool bar and I can't find a way to add it back. Any suggestions?

Under "Settings" > "Files and Applications" > "Downloads", I have selected "Save files to [Downloads]" and I have set the tick mark in the box ("Always ask you where to save files"). See screenshot.

This setting used to work fine for many a year. However, some months ago - and ongoing - Firefox does no longer ask me where to save a downloaded file. This is very annoying indeed!

How can I fix this?

I am using Windows 10, Firefox 124.0 (64-bit).

I've been using Firefox and it's saved numerous passwords. However, these disappeared suddenly. Through testing, I discovered they reappear when I restart Firefox in Safe Mode (achieved via about:profiles => restart with adds-on disabled). Yet, re-enabling add-ons (restart in normal mode) causes the passwords to vanish again. Interestingly, disabling the add-ons in normal mode doesn't restore password access.

Looking for solutions or insights.

Gmail and my Google account are stuck on the help center pages. I can't sign in or out and can't reach my mail. Both work fine in other browsers. I tried the "about:support" page with no results.
