When Firefox updated recently, all my bookmarks disappeared, except for the most used. I don't want the most used, I need all of them back in the side window when I need them. How do I make that happen?

Firefox is showing my bookmarks when a webpage is opened, and I would like it to show another set of bookmarks when a new empty tab is opened.

Firefox is telling me to "manage bookmarks" but I don't see another category which is for the bookmark toolbar shown on a new tab, all bookmarks are shown in the widget next to the search bar.

I know I can move the widget, but I want to use both rows for different bookmarks.

Is it possible?

In the year 2024, firefox still does not allow a simple way to set any URL you would like as the new tab url (without an extension).

Users were previously able to use extensions like NewTab override to have a relatively seamless experience changing their new tab page. However after certain changes, these said extensions can no longer set your new tab page to a local file, and can also no longer clear and focus the address bar.

I am simply requesting a feature within firefox to set a custom new tab page, without having to create any external configs, or without using any extensions. This basic feature has been available in chromium browsers for years, and firefox already includes a feature just like this for the "Homepage and new windows" setting, where it allows you to input a custom URL to a local file or site to put it as your homepage. However, this same setting for some odd reason does not exist for the "new tabs" option. Why is this?

As of now, I've had to use a manual override along the lines of this:

this should not be needed. Having to modify files in system protected folders should not be needed for such a simple option.

How do I permanently change the "overflows" attribute of the new sidebar button to false so it doesn't disappear on me when I resize the window and I still need my tabs?

When multitasking I would like to decrease the horizontal window size to any size I want. Right now with vertical tabs enabled it is locked to more than half my screen width for some reason.

Is there anything I can do to unlock this window size limit? It makes vertical tabs just a worse option even though it's great otherwise.

screen behavior in a mac is baffling! i want windows to stay where and how big they are, but firefox for mac has fancy behavior i DO NOT WANT. where is the list of behavior when clicking on screen size full, right, left etc click that i can turn OFF?

i need to delete the hotkey for closing browser/tabs with shift+w mainly. but every other hotkey is also in need of disabling. its an awful function that is completely unnecessary and unwanted. there is also nothing in the setting to even disable it which is fucking awful. why is it not a setting??

browser is about one reply from support away from being forever uninstalled.

My settings are checked to ask where I want a download to go, but then also puts a copy in the downloads folder. How can I stop the additional copy of a download?

I did a search to try and fix this. Suggestions included, checking if Private Windows are on, Customizing Toolbar, making sure all extensions are enabled and Refresh Firefox, all of which I did with no results. Before I go nuclear and uninstall/install Firefox, are there any other suggestions to solve this issue?

I use different profiles for different tasks. I have an profile for streaming using a VPN and an other profile connect to my VNC-Servern using NoVNC (NoVNC is a client but has no GUI). All firefox instances lokk the same in panel - the normal red firefox icon. Is there a way to change this icon for each profile? I don't mean the icon i can customize in the *.desktop file. Can this be done with an other theme?

I recently downgraded to the stable version of Firefox from beta. I made a new profile and deleted the old one, and it still tells me this randomly. Not sure what to do now since creating a new profile (like it said) didn't work. It's more of an annoyance since everything works like normal, other than getting the error every few hours (or minutes, depends).
