I just started getting this black screen instead of some youtube videos whilst they are running , and whilst the sound still goes on perfectly fine. It's rare that it happens and it can change into the normal image, and when i change from full screen view to normal view it can also change back to the normal/real image. Does anyone know what that could be from?

Hi I am in the same situation as many others I have seen posting here. Shockwave flash is continually crashing to the extent it takes several minutes to get to the add-ons manager and disable shockwave flash. I have reinstalled all adobe plugins, so they are up to date. I am having real problems accessing a lot of web pages/web page content because with shockwave flash enabled firefox is all but frozen and with shockwave flash disabled a lot of web content isn't available.

I have looked at other threads that I found and have attempted all of the suggested solutions and have selected the Troubleshooting Information option below this text box. I have a huge list of crash reports, unfortunately I am not sure how to load them

Any suggestions appreciated

I will watch a video on YouTube (any video) and the PICTURE will pause a second while the audio continues uninterrupted (no matter the quality I put it on). It happens every 20-50 seconds (even while not in full screen). I have adobe flash player installed.

For the past few days Firefox browser videos requiring Flash player do not open but give me the 'crash screen'. It works fine with Internet Explorer because it is built in. I have tried all of the recommended fixes from adobe and and firefox.

I have refreshed Firefox
I have enabled in firefox
I have disabled all plugins and extensions then tried enabling Flash Player
I have uninstalled and reinstalled Flash player a few times
I have tried adjusting Flash player settings
    " deleting FPs cache, etc.

I have not been able to adjust FPs "hardware acceleration" because it won't open in the support pages.

I have: a newer toshiba Satellite L70 (intel i7)

64bit

windows 8.1

Hello everyone

I think that recently I had to update Flash version and it was all okay even after the update. But yesterday videos on YouTube all of a sudden stopped displaying. Just like that, in the morning they were okay and then around of noon, all of sudden blank. Didn't install anything new or something.. now I only get White screen with no any border, just an empty spot where the video should be. Beside that, any other flash content [i.e. videos on Facebook, vimeo are not displaying as well]. All I get on YouTube is constant "loading" indicator beside the cursor which keeps blipping.

Now the strange thing is first - I have no problems with this on other browsers like i.e. Google Chrome, and second.. IF I uninstall Flash from my PC, I can watch YouTube videos on Mozilla although the max resolution is 720p.. and vimeo/facebook videos will still not work. How da heck is that even possible? O.o

I've tried a lot of different things and nothing helped.. here are some of the them [I hope I won't forget something]

- Uninstalling Mozilla/Flash then installing them again - Uninstalling Flash, then letting Mozilla suggest me to add it - Disabling/Deleting all of my extensions - Turning off that hardware acceleration thingy - Deleting cookies from YouTube then adding them to exceptions - Clearing out whole history/cache or whatever - Right clicking on the "empty space" where video should be.. to see if any options will pop-up [Of course they don't, there is no video to start with] - Scanning for viruses [Nothing]

Can anyone please help me? Any suggestion, what can I do?

A year ago, I had a video freezing problem. disabling hardware accelorator appeared to work, but doesn't work now for same exact problem. tried other solutions that were suggested a yer ago. Nothing work. It appeared that the video problem fixed itself. This is very fustrating that this is happening again and makes me believe that firefox never solved the initial problem after a year

I am using Firefox 35.0.1 and I have installed Shockwave Flash 16.0.0.296. As soon as Flash starts, Firefox freezes and unfreezes until it can't be used at all. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the flash player and I have also used Firefox's Refresh option. This problem started a couple of days ago & I don't know what else I can do.

I have the latest version of flash player installed and enabled. When I go to Adobe's test page, it recognizes the install and lists the correct version number, but the test animation at the top of the page fails to load properly. Also, the applications handler in Firefox's 'options' menu fails to list any flash compatible file types. On YouTube, I'm met with the video throbber stuck, unmoving, against a black rectangle. Right clicking the video and trying to view the 'settings' dialog does nothing.

I have tried deleting 'pluginreg.dat' and a number of other solutions I've found online, but nothing has made a difference. My other plugins (java, acrobat, etc.) all work fine. Thanks, in advance, for any help.

Hello all, So Just yesterday I noticed that when playing videos on youtube in full screen, i get a lot of sound crackling and video slow down and the likes. Also happens in other sites such as shush.se

At first it seemed to happen after Flash updated but my laptop updated the same and there is no problem there. It happens both with the flash and the HTML5 player, FF only, on chrome there is no problem.

If i enable hardware acceleration in the flash player settings, then there is no video at all, just a green screen.

I'm using win7 64-bit (actually just re-installed windows-not related,but i had 32bit before, hoped it would help but didn't)

A friend of mine asked me to help him out with this and I'm sorry to say, I'm stumped. He's got a Windows 8.1 system (full version, U.S. not K or N), this is his regular office computer (he's the manager at a Electrical Contractor) and he watches Weather.Com and it's videos to try and plan for any snow closings. At some point, the videos on Weather.Com stopped playing and all they show is a black window on the page where the video should be playing.

There was another thread (archived now) about this problem on FireFox 25 (he's using the latest 35.0.1 and the latest Flash player 16.0.0.305) and I tried several of the suggestions in that old thread: First FireFox has minimal addons, uses the Noia Fox 3.0.1 theme and that's it; plugins listed are OpenH264 Video Codec; Shockwave Flash 16.0.0.305; Adobe Acrobat 11.0.10.32; Google Earth Plugin 7.1.2.2041; Google Update 1.3.26.9; iTunes Application Detector 1.0.1.1; NVidia 3D Vision 7,17.13.4411; Picasa 3.0.0.0 and that's all, no AdBlock Plus or anything else. I tried FireFox in safe mode and still couldn't watch; the driver for the nVidia 610 graphics adapter was slightly out of date and I updated it to the latest 347.52 and that made no difference.

I was able to watch Weather.Com videos with IE; I was also able to watch YouTube and MSN videos with FireFox and this problem seems to only affect Weather.Com.

Does anyone have any idea's?

I did some basic scans to see if there were viruses or malware with TDSKiller, Malwarebytes and Spybot Search & Destroy and they turned up nothing other than a few tracking cookies.

Now, whatever I do, such as typing, every 5 seconds I get a 2'ish second freeze. Often, I crash loading a new tab. I run appx. 24 tabs. Tune Up Utilities has Simultaneous Connections for FF on Unlimited.

Minor Questions: Why does my system, which is not too bad, does this? It should be able to run FF smoothly, no hangs, no crashes. But it does not seem to work this way. Do I have conflicting Extensions, or Plugins? Do I have conflicting Extensions that run amok with a plugin? Why do some Plugins appear double? Can I kill one of the doubles off?

Major question: How can I make FF smooth again?

I have a constant problem with shockwave. I have shockwave flash 15 plug in installed and am using FF 33.0.2 I constantly get a message that shockwave flash maybe busy or may have become unresponsive. It completely freezes up my Firefox. So I cannot watch any videos using Firefox. Everything works perfectly on Chrome. I have tried all the solutions previously suggested such as disabling hardware acceleration but nothing helps. I am ready to absolutely ditch Firefox..... This is so frustrating..

Suddenly I am finding that when playing Youtube videos within Firefox I get a message saying the Adobe flash plugin has crashed.

Everything was fine yesterday although I noticed that it is when I am playing lower resolution and poor quality videos on Youtube.

I have the latest version of Firefox on a Mac Retina and have disabled the hardware acceleration but still the problem occurs.

I have also rebooted my Mac several times as well as closed and opened Firefox each time I make a change. I have also uninstalled flash and reinstalled but to no avail.

As I said above this appears to crash when playing older lower quality videos. Newer, higher resolution videos seem OK.

I have tried playing the videos causing the issue in Safari and they play fine. It just seems to be Firefox.

Anyone else experienced this and can provide an answer to resolve?

Every time I go to watch a YouTube video, it takes forever for the video to begin playing. When it does finally start, the quality is often very low, at 240p or 144p. I also have Chrome and Safari installed on my laptop and they do not have any problems playing videos. It is only Firefox. Also, I do not have this problem on my family's laptop, which runs Windows. It is only on my Macbook Pro.

Also, sometimes, various websites take a very long time to load, but this is not nearly as frequent as my problem with YouTube videos.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox, starting in Safe Mode, disabling various add-ons and plugins, clearing browsing data, and nothing has worked.

Firefox is my default browser and I've been using it without issue for many years. Recently it has stopped playing the flash games on Lumosity properly. They previously worked without issue but are now jerky, skipping and missing frames making it impossible to use the browser for their site anymore. The site loads and plays fine on other browsers (IE&Chrome), and FF players other similar websites and flash games seemingly without issue. I waited a couple months hoping an update to the site, the flash player, or the browser would iron out this issue but it hasnt. Lumosity's site support has been less than helpful and basically consists of trying to get me to abandon FF in favor of chrome. I am a fairly knowledgeable computer user, and have tried a wide variety of fixes from various sources to no avail. So I'm hoping you can help me solve this issue finally.

I'm on a Vista system (for better or worse) with FF 37.0.1 (the issue has been happening since atleast V34. I have the following extensions: Adblock plus, Ghostery, HTTPS-Everywhere, NoScript, & I use CCleaner (I've tried solutions turning each of those off individually, or all at once with no improved results) All of my software, extensions, plugins, etc are all up to date and working fine.

If you have any questions or need further information please let me know. I'm hoping not to have to abandon Firefox. Thank you.

Since the latest FF and Flash update (37 and 17) I can't watch any videos or flash content - like (annoying ad) banners. Everything literally FLASHES. Like a strobe light. Then videos get stuck, the cursor jumps/freezes, sound stutters and eventually mac crashes (panic). The fans are constantly hyperventilating but nothing weird is running in activity monitor.

I have:

• Uninstalled and reinstalled flash; same for Firefox; cleaned flash cache - nothing
• I only have flash, java and QuickTime plugins installed
• Downgraded flash to previous version (16) - better, no flashes, but still stutters and crashes after watching video for 10-15 minutes most (sometimes not even that)
• Tried to watch using VPN but after a while graphics and sound go crazy
• Decided to upgrade again to flash 17. Now it flashes again and I can't watch videos for even 1 minute.
• Tried the about:config media.mediasource.enabled (change to true); dom.ipc.plugins.flash.disable-protected-mode (change to false); Firefox "get info" open with 32-bit mode; - nothing worked

What can I do? Any idea? Thanks

Mediaite (this page for example http://www.mediaite.com/tv/foxs-gretchen-carlson-opens-up-on-time-spent-backstage-with-cosby/ ) as well as other sites are locking up in the new version (39) of FF on MacBook Pro OSX 10.8.5. Restart and FF safe mode didn't help. Sometimes it hangs for a minute or so, other times it's a full page lock. This page simply hangs for a few seconds ( http://www.bakersfieldnow.com/ ) which makes you wait longer on pages that are truly locked.

Every now and then, while either watching any sort of video or stream, my player will freeze, then follow with a dialogue box prompting myself to either Continue or Stop Plugin. When I hit Continue, it gives itself sometime, and then the dialogue box pops up again. I have already turned off the acceleration option for Flash, I have made sure my plugins were all update, and, when checking for crash reports, none of which start with "bp", which I have seen suggested to be provided in other threads for similar problems.

This happens anywhere from every hour to every 3 or 4 hours, seemingly random.
