How do I allow Filter (an app) to block websites in Firefox (which is what it is supposed to do)? It works on Chrome just fine. How do I give it permission? Or should I leave Firefox forever so I can take control of my life?

I was looking at an article on CNN when the fan in my PC started winding up to its top speed. I pulled up the Task Manager and found that 29 instances of Firefox were running simultaneously! Is there a way for us to limit the number of Firefox instances so that it won't completely paralyze my computer? I remember this happening a couple of years ago and I moved to a different browser, but I'd really rather get this under control than switch browsers.

Not sure which update caused the issue, since I've been delaying updates for a little while (maybe 15 days or so). Immediately after starting Firefox, the Intel graphics driver stops working, which causes Firefox to hang on a white screen. The windows warning is something close to "Intel graphics driver stopped responding and has recovered". The only way I can start Firefox is in troubleshoot mode. I tried disabling hardware acceleration, which solves the problem but I'd like to keep using the GPU so it's not really a good solution. So I forced Firefox to use the NVIDIA GPU (gtx 960m) on the NVIDIA control panel. This worked, Firefox starts and works as normal again but within just a few hours has already caused the NVIDIA GPU drivers to stop responding once, prompting Firefox to stop responding too and hang on a white screen. Restarting Firefox fixed the problem. This might have been a fluke but I'd like to keep using the Intel integrated GPU, if possible.

I'm using Windows 8.1 and my laptop has an i7-4720HQ (Intel HD Graphics 4600) and a GTX 960m. I'm using the latest version of Firefox 106.0.2

Any idea what might be causing the problem? I haven't had any trouble with either GPU on any other occasion

I can't use my xfinity account with Firefox. I can log in but from there everything I click on gets "Access Denied", "You do not have permission..." It won't even let me go to xfinity.com! Xfinity says to contact you, so ...is there a bug being worked on, or a way to troubleshoot the issue? They had me look in More Tools for something about clearing something, but I don't have whatever tool that is in my Firefox 106.0.2 (64-bit). I really don't want to have to install Chrome or reinstall Edge just to pay my cable bill.

Is there any way to make firefox respect default communication and playback devices? As it stands right now, if I wanna chat with friends on facebook then I have to go through Windows and force firefox to output audio to my headset, which means that if I wanna watch a video as well, the audio from that no longer comes from my sound system, but my headset instead. When seraching for 'audio,' 'sound,' or 'playback' in the settings (after going through them all manually) I can't seem to change that. Chrome did it just fine..

Is there a way to delete a bookmark from the book-mark drop-down window (accessed from triple horizontal bar/right side of browser) but retain the same book-mark that had been saved in a folder created in Other Bookmarks? I discovered that when you delete a book-mark entry from drop down menu, the same entry is also deleted from its saved location in Other Book Marks. I was trying to reduce number of unsorted entries in drop down menu while saving (and retaining) the same link in the Other Bookmarks section and folder. I want to continue using the sorting and discrete folder saving possible with the Other Bookmark section but clean up the clutter in the unsorted bookmark section.

Below I show screen shots of the blank page on firefox which has the firefox logo all but diminished under the private browsing mask. It's the same on the start bar but of course much smaller.

It makes it look like the new brand of firefox is the private browsing mask (I am always in that mode except for netflix).

I prefer the firefox logo and I surely don't need to know when I'm in private browsing on the start bar. The home page I don't care about, but I know I'm in private browsing cause the upper area of firefox says private browsing right on the browser itself. I have no idea why we would need be made aware that we're in private browsing, it seems the opposite would be more helpful.

I'm writing because I don't like this new firefox tiny icon with a big purple mask over it. Wanted to let you know.

If you're changing brands or something? To a purple mask? And private browsing isn't all that great.

The image on the left below is the new firefox icon on the start bar. The one on the right is on the blank page which I don't care about at all but it's just a bigger picture.

Who/what is firefox?

I love firefox, but just saying.

Thanks for hearing.

Greetings from North-East of France, since a few weeks ago I'm seeing a (sort of) pop-up window suggesting to login with a Google account (see the screenshot attached). I've done some internet search to find out how to get rid of it, but the only suggestion I get is to modify an option in a Google account. However, I do not have a Google account! How to get rid of this disturbing pop-up? I already use Adblock Plus and uBlock Origin, yet Google passes through them! Thank you in advance for any help you may provide.

Yesterday, I updated to macOS Ventura and since then quite a few websites do not display text correctly in my Firefox desktop browser, including Mozilla interfaces (screenshots attached). I can copy these texts and paste them to some text editor file and I'll get a correct text. So it looks like only the graphical representation is affected. Also, bold and italic texts are always displayed correctly, h1 headings are not, h2 headings are... I browse on a MacBook Pro 16-inch 2021, Apple M1 Max, and I have the latest Firefox version installed.

I was so in hopes that the latest update (10-19-22) would fix the issue with facebook...but no, after a minute of scrolling on facebook, the screen starts jumping and scolling around without my input. Facebook works fine with Chrome, but I would prefer FF. I know there are a lot of people experiencing same and was hopeful this update would be the fix. Windows 10, most recent update on facebook and now most recent FF update, too.

Hallo, I have a Newsletter from a publisher in Florida and e-Mail contact so it is a genuine, well known company. Firefox did send my subscription, no problem but subscription order form for Mastercard pay, received per E-Mail firefox is not transmitting. On inquiry, Mastercard said there was no rejection or transaction with my card. I think a software issue the company would know as I saw there adds in Singapore StraitsTime and in the EU. so if they are doing business in many countries then my issue must be a unique one. Could it be a setup problem ie security, or politics to purchase from US? Before I purchased my retail OS online from USA. Thanks for trying to help, I be grateful for any Ideas or hints on this issue. Alf

I want to use my tablet for writing/drawing on some websites but the browser doesn't recognize the device. It computes the mouse on the "drawing" screen but not the tablet, and also computes using the pen for clicking and dragging, and/or the tablet as a touch-pad. The device works fine on chrome and on my drawing softwares, so it isn't a problem with the pressure sensors or driver. Tested disabling all addons and restarting Mozilla, but the problem remains. Mozilla is up to date, and I use W10 (also up to date).

Any advice?
