Hello. I had discovered that Firefox itself creates a so called "fork bomb" by creating a big amount of sub-processes under the main one (with I can prove thru the attached screenshoots).

Could anyone have a idea how to limit Firefox from opening so many sub-processess, with (wanting or not) are mostly causing that my system runs out of memory and stop beeing responsible to any of my inputs, with forces me to restart the system (similar thing is done by an DOS attack)

I use the Firefox 88.0.1 on Ubuntu 20.04 (64-bit)

I just installed the latest v90 upgrade. I get at least 5 sometimes as many as 7 instances of Firefox running simultaneously. Look at my screen shot of the Task Manager...Holy Sh*t! I attempted to downgrade back to v89, but Mozilla has made this option unbearable ...have to recreate your profile, all your passwords, cookies and bookmarks, an incredible hassle. Stuff like this just shouldn't happen.

Definitely NOT a well-thought out release.

Guess I'll be migrating to Chrome sooner than I thought!?

I have to go into task manager to stop background processors from freezing my computer. Closing background processors in disk and memory. Sometimes there are as many as 10 background processors running but it seems to be a only a few and can't tell which one's until I figure it out. Sometimes I can by the amount of usage. I have to do this several times as I use my computer.

why is FireFox 95 opening multiple windows on startup with Windows 10, Roboform, & Norton 360? FireFox is set to open a new tab, not new windows, so I do not know why it is doing this? I see lots of people asking this question, but there is no guidance online. What is up? This is causing FireFox to use way too much resources, and slows the computer.

Hi, since the last update, Firefox is taking a huge amount of memory and slowing everything else on my PC right down. Right now this support tab is the only webpage I have open, yet you can see in the screenshot there are 31 Firefox processes running, and over 1G of memory being taken. I've followed all the help threads and taken the steps in them - it's made no difference. Please can you help me find a way to tame Firefox. Also - I'm really not an IT expert at all so please can you tell me in very simple language :)
