I switched from Chrome to Firefox a couple weeks ago. Everything seemed to go fine at first but now my laptop is not syncing bookmarks with my Android phone or desktop PC. My about:sync-log is filled with errors every few minutes. When browsing through them, I see a common reference saying the master password is locked and it can't sync but the primary password option is unchecked in my settings. Interestingly, nothing happens when I click sign out under my profile and I have to go to the Mozilla manage account screen and sign out from there. Sometimes when I do that and log back in, bookmarks will sync once and then error out again. Any assistance you can provide would be appreciated.

Firefox hangs when I try to maximise the window. If the firefox window is covering half of my screen and I try to maximise by clicking on the window button at the top right, it hangs. I get a message "firefox is not responding, wait or exit." Then I have to select close, and start it again to work. This happens occasionally, once in every 2-3 days.

Microsoft has placed an ad in mail page to purchase 365 Pilot-Personalized email, I already own 365 program, because I do not push the Buy Button they refused to remove the Ad therefore I cannot open my email. Somebody told me that Firefox is in collaboration with Microsoft,please see if you remove the Ad from email page-it has been a nightmare I have to manure to to ge some of my emails. Please,help. I'm running the latest FF under Win7. Seems that whenever I go to the Merriam-Webster (dot) com site, after a few seconds, my disk activity light goes solid, and the FF CPU usage spike to 10-25%. One time, to regain control of my system (because everything seemed hung) I actually had to resort to the physical power-down switch. Obviously I immediately ran a virus scan upon coming back up (scan showed all okay). Now, if I stay away from Merriam-Webster, FF behaves normally. But it's a damned dictionary site. I occasionally will need to use it or stumble into it. I've used MW in the past without problems. Does anyone know what's going on?

Yo, Linux sysadmin here and been using Firefox forever.  Surprisingly I have this ancient 12 year old System76 laptop that I use for nearly everything (got a newer Lenovo that I been meaning to switch to but no time).

Using Debian 12/13 with Gnome 43.6/X11.  Can't quite figure out this issue though.  Besides being a sysadmin, can have other side jobs/projects going on as well, so can have 5-10 windows open in different workspaces, sometimes with hundreds of tabs all together (big fan of the Auto Tab Discard add-on and about:memory Minimize Memory Usage to keep performance up and resource usage low).

Been noticing this issue for the last few versions where suddenly, after random amount of Firefox uptime (can be after days of perfect performance) my keyboard input aka typing gets extremely laggy, like 30 seconds behind for all keystrokes, except: Ctrl-F instantly brings up the Find in Page bar, and Ctrl-C instantly copies to clipboard.  Ctrl-V, however, 30 seconds lag, Ctrl-A also....  Mouse is fine though and can right-click and paste instantly or use other menu options.  Happens anywhere in Firefox too: in address bar, in the find text box, in the preferences, in my saved passwords, haven't found a place with no lag.

Have searched around for some hours now and only found suggestions to disable accessibility service, but accessibility service has already been disabled for a while now.  Everything else in my Gnome desktop session is running fine.  Restarting Firefox temporarily solves the issue but is highly annoying and interruptive with as much as I have going on sometimes.  Due to timing randomness, starting Firefox without certain add-ons is impossible as I can't spend days at a time without any of them.  Just have to open a text editor and type what I need to in there, then paste with mouse, until I can find a good stopping place to restart Firefox.

Have included most of the info from about:support in the Troubleshooting Information.  Spent quite a bit of time looking at all my modified preferences, nothing popped out but if there's something you think I could include to help, let me know. Thanks

On the first load of the day FF partially loads a page then freezes that page. Links are dead and can't type into any text field. This will happen with multiple tabs then suddenly everything starts to work with no further issues. Note: the browser does not freeze.

After reinstalling Windows 11 Pro on a newly installed SSD my browser resets location and size to default. Nothing listed here in support or found elsewhere through a web search has made a difference. Also, if I leave Firefox open for an extended period of time so that the browser stays where I put it, and keeps the same size, it will crash. As a test, I had Windows resize the browser to the full monitor, closed it, and when I reopened Firefox it filled the monitor. A second time closed and reopened a few minutes later resets back to default location and size. Everything else (bookmarks, extensions, etc.) remains the same. Nothing has been added or removed since the fresh install.

This is the latest version, 23H2, of Windows 11 Pro, which, btw, was the version I was running before the fresh install of Windows 11 Pro.

How can this be corrected?

I just got some message saying that my Firefox version needed to be updated and by hastily taping on the ok button I did it without noticing that it had done it to a newer version no longer supported by my Mac OS.

I wanted to go back to the most recent version still supported by El Capitan 10.11.6, so I installed again the 78.10.0ESR and now all my browsing history from many years back is gone.

Could you please help me getting my history back?

Going through internet through several hours didn't bring any good solution to my problem.

My Simple Tab Groups disappeared after one of the recent Firefox updates. This has happened before. Now, after considerable time rebuilding my simple tab groups, when I get a notification that a new version of Firefox is available, I dismiss it. I am afraid of losing them again.

Have you heard this before? Has the issue been addressed? Is it fixed? Is it safe to update without losing the tab groups? Is there a way to back them up and restore them later if they crash?

I am using Windows 7 and Firefox 115.5. When I close Firefox, it stalls and after a minute I get an error message saying Windows Explorer is hung up. Then if I can get an option to close the program. I have tried many ways to exit Firefox but nothing helps this. Thanks.

Why is

"m@moz-extension://7010c318-ea8f-4(?)"  populating in my Password Managers log-Ins whose websites require passwords ? This prevents log in information from auto populating?

Suddenly stopped receiving emails on my blueyonder account 6 days ago. I can receive them fine on my iphone and ipad and with virgins web mail site but nothing on Thunderbird. It keeps asking for my password but does not recognise anything that i type in. Also will not send from blueyonder. My gmail account works fine. Please help

When I have to change a setting on my LAN printer, an HP, I should be able to access its built-in settings module. Firefox will not let me access the printer because it doesn't have a trusted certificate.

So I get a blank page with the message: "we could not verify the certificate: reason = untrusted" and doesn't give me any options. In versions past, I recall an option to connect anyway if I trusted the site.

If there is a setting that lets me enable the option to continue anyway, where is it? Alternately, is there an exception list, perhaps by IP address, that will allow the browser to connect? Perhaps another solution?

I can't be the only one who is encountering this issue.

We are working on xxx organization and for one of our core applications experienced suspicious activity since November 22, 2023, while users leveraging Firefox browser version 119.0 where customer made multiple attempts to perform sequence of flow and got dropped. Around 99% of our customer got dropped ever since Nov 22. We are not sure if its due browser or any other suspicious issue.

however, we would like to understand from your other customer experience perspective, have we encountered any bad user experience using Firefox browser version 119.0 / or do we have any bug encountered and recently had a fix? 

2. Another question, If in case was a fix for Firefox version 119.0 will the customer browser automatically gets updated ?

It would be great if you can help us to share these details so that we can investigate further.

Hi, i'm a new firefox user and I've looked online for the last hour looking for a fix, but nothing. I have 2 monitors and when I click from one to the other or alt + tab, all my tabs become darkened, from white to having faded / being much darker, I'd want to not have that, is there a way?

Example of not darked darkened / faded tabs / darkened:

The netflix, giazo, imdb and youtube tab is not darkened. (not alt tabbed or clicked on second monitor). The other one is darkened, alt tabbed, clicked on second monitor.
