What entity or entities can access my device and Firefox nightly/duck duck go browser-based device visual or non-visual, vocal, or with entity assistance at this moment.

I am really frustrated by the additional AI features coming to Firefox soon. How can I ensure I will be notified as those features are rolled out, and how can I turn them off for my personal browser? To clarify, I don’t want any of my data, activity, or history to be accessible by any AI, and I don’t want to interact with any AI when I use Firefox.

I know I can't speak for all Firefox users, but one of the main draws to using this browser for myself and many others has been that it took a firm stance AGAINST data theft, user tracking, bloat, and other insidiously invasive practices present in other browsers that make them glorified spyware. Integrating genAI features throws all of that out the door, and deeply threatens the product's identity in its consumer base. These are features we do not want or need and will likely drive many proud Firefox users to seek alternatives. Please reconsider

I hope this goes somewhere, like a representative email or something. But I use firefox because it's user and cpu friendly, and it isn't spying on me like Google. I can disable so many analytics and have privacy extensions. Re: your new CEO's intro article, I find it infringing upon my privacy to force AI features on my browser like this. Your primary userbase does not want this.

Hi i saw something saying the browser wanted to use more ai etc, is this true? Is there a way to opt out of these services in total if so?

I use firefox for the privacy and to avoid bloatware so itld be really disappointing if its now looking to use ai more in its services.

there's no way I'll continue to use Firefox if AI is implemented, for years the reason I used this browser is because of it's safety and security and I believe if AI is implemented that will indefinitely go away. I will ditch this browser if this comes to pass.

I was googling something related to my game and i clicked on a Reddit search result, which i made sure is the official Reddit website not some shady one, then an empty .htm file from moz-safe-about resource got downloaded randomly. I didn't open it, i uploaded it to VirusTotal which came out safe and then i instantly deleted it and ran a virus scan with Windows Security which also came out clean. i tried to recreate this by opening the same website again both on Firefox and other browsers like Zen(Firefox based) and Chrome but nothing happened.

is this a harmless bug or should i worry that it could be a virus that didnt get detected?

If Firefox becomes an "AI browser" as it's new CEO says I will switch to another browser. The privacy and environmental problems alone are enough for me to warrant this change, to say nothing of how it's slowing the browser itself down and making it worse. I'm sick and tired of AI shoving itself into every single aspect of life, taking things that already worked fine on their own and making them worse for no reason, in addition to ruining the planet and encroaching more and more on the privacy of everyday folks like myself. Anthony Enzor-DeMeo's insistence that we should "trust" this hypothetical version of the browser is frankly sickening, and everyone involved in this scam should be ashamed.

Also McAffee notification with all these popups stating that my McAffee protection expired yesterday - I have never had a McAffee notification for a virus or pair for protection from them. Popups are happening every 10 seconds continuously! looks like about 20 or more popups describing different problems with 20 digit numbers and letters as a serial number of the problem!

I choose Firefox because of its security and privacy measures. This will be completely undercut by implementing pointless ai features. Mozilla's choice of new CEO is incredibly questionable, especially as the ai bubble draws closer and closer to bursting.

Hello! Long time Firefox user here, grew up with a father working in IT security. He's mentioned this a few times before, but now we've both really noticed the push towards using generative AI in roles in IT where it's really unsuitable, and honestly quite a risk to security and privacy, not to mention quite a waste of time having to fact check things properly because I cannot even be sure that the first result in a Google search for "how far away is the moon" will be correct. We're quite concerned that Firefox is following suit, especially with the new CEO evidently not understanding some of the fundamentals of why this browser has such a dedicated user base. Just wondering if saving the money by not having to hire competent, trained professionals who can provide the human touch needed to run a browser is truly worth eroding Firefox's reputation of being the genuinely good alternative to Chrome? How long before the AI stops being optional? How much of the code is going to end up written by some language learning algorithm and passed off as safe? If this push is to continue, what alternatives does anyone in the community suggest? Thank you for any responses from both myself and my father :-)

When the browser is open - whether with tabs or not - it disables NVIDIA ShadowPlay. The NVIDIA overlay says “a protected app is preventing desktop capture,” and I’d agree with that if it only happened when tabs with DRM content were open, but it happens even in an empty browser.

I switched from chrome to firefox earlier this year because I was TIRED of google chrome and its horrific privacy and security. I'm extremely disappointed to hear that your new CEO wants to further integrate AI into Firefox. If this course is not reversed, I WILL be uninstalling Firefox. I will also encourage all of my friends (whom I just convinced to switch from chrome with me) to switch as well.

I have dealt with the shortcomings of Firefox because it does not integrate AI.

If Firefox is also going to integrate AI, there is absolutely no reason for me to continue using it.

So, as I’m sure everyone has heard by now, the new CEO wants to make Firefox an “AI browser”. As a long time user, I think I speak for a lot of us when I say WE DON’T WANT THIS. In fact, the reason many of us were here is that Firefox was pretty much the last major browser not to give in to using generative AI for everything. I hope the CEO backtracks on this, or Firefox is going to lose a TON of users and money. Let’s go over the facts.

- Generative AI uses an unsustainable amount of energy and water, and AI data centers are responsible for a lot of air pollution. - AI tools are frequently incorrect, and lead to misinformation being spread. - Data is frequently scraped for AI training without user permission, and leaks are very common. This goes completely against Mozilla’s commitment to privacy, which was one of the big reasons I started using Firefox to begin with.

This announcement is very disappointing, and the CEO really needs to reconsider. Keep Firefox secure. Keep “AI” LLMs OUT.

I use Firefox specifically because I appreciate(d) the flexibility and the privacy. Default AI makes it significantly more difficult to customize the browser to my preferences (ie, zero AI anywhere) and threatens the privacy that Firefox is known and recognized for. This is an absolutely incomprehensible decisions; it is no longer a "trustworthy" browser if it incorporates AI. Why ruin a good thing??

I switched to firefox because I was annoyed at the integration of ai into my previous browser. If the new CEO of firefox fulfills his plans to add more ai into firefox, I will switch browsers again. The integration of ai is completely unnecessary, the vast majority of users will not use the features at all or will leave firefox as I plan to. Firefox has always stood apart by protecting the data privacy of those who use it and integrating ai will ruin that.

Hi! I have seen that Mozilla will be moving forwards with integrating AI to Firefox. I am very uncomfortable with this, as AI poses a risk to the privacy and security that made me choose Firefox in the first place. If this is the case and AI is truly integrated (at least without an option to turn it off or opt-out completely) I will no longer use this browser and switch to something else. I enjoy Firefox so I am hoping that this will not be necessary....but we will see.

I'm sick of having to turn off ai features in every freaking thing, if the product was any good you wouldn't have to push it so hard!

This is bad for my data security and privacy. Bad for the environment. Spreads falsehoods. And promotes plagiarism.

I'm already starting to look around for other browsers so I can switch over and delete this account if you don't stop this garbage.
