Tēnā koutou (Hello everyone),

I deleted Firefox to re-install it after playing with profiles and that not working how I wanted it to (yet). I uninstalled the app from the applications and the library on my Mac and reinstalled Firefox. Now when I open Firefox it says that it's up and running but no windows actually open up for me. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it again and it still won't open windows. I have to force quit Firefox as nothing shows up in my top tool bar to even show Firefox as open.

How can I get Firefox to actually install and be functioning on my computer again?

Running (as of an hour ago) macOS 14.5 (was using previous up to date OS when I installed Firefox again.

I have Firefox 126.0.1 installed yet get a notification daily asking me to install the latest update When I down load the "latest update" I get Firefox 126.0.1 ! How can I stop this annoyance? Thank you John

i need some help with my firefox browser. all of a sudden my firefox browser wont download any files from anywhere but if i try to use the save image as on an image firefox would download them. weirdest thing is other browsers are fine when downloading files.

Hi, so sorry for the delay and inconvenience caused by this matter, I’m new to all of this and not sure what I did or have done to create this giant mess I have for myself, but I need some help! Seems that my computer doesn’t work correctly anymore, nor do my phone's. Somehow I joined this and need to fix everything. Thanks for your help!

When attempting to install a "clean" verison (delete old, install new) I get an error message about using the firefox removal tool. Where do I get it and how do I remove the old one and install a newest version?

I cannot even download firefox because im getting an error message " cannot create temp archive folder" It wont even launch the install files. Something orgininally happened to firefox on my computer because i wasnt able to download anything with the browser download manager. I need help

I have had the option "Check for updates but let you choose to install them" selected for some time, because when FF auto-updates my system becomes unstable. Despite that version 126.0.1 (64-bit) was automatically installed. Which I only found out about because after causing FF to freeze, and basically crashing the work I was doing, and forcing me to kill the task with task manager, I get the "FF is installing your update and will start in a few minutes" at restart.

After looking thru the help forums I have set app.update.background.enabled and app.update.background.scheduling.enabled to false. (They were both true despite the setting selected.)

Two things:

1. I DO want to be notified when updates are available. I just don't want them to happen at your convenience. Will I still be notified of updates with these config parameters set to false?

2. If you have a setting that says "Don't Update" and I select that option, you should not update. There is clearly a problem somewhere.

(Windows reinstall via Microsoft's cloud reset "save my data" option specified... though some stuff got wiped out due to hard drive issues)

I always had one version of Firefox installed. I regularly update the software via Help >> About Still, after every update, I am getting multiple versions of Firefox listed at [Settings/Installed Apps] and [Control Panel/Uninstall or remove apps] on my Win11 23H2 22631.3593 (screenshot attached).

In order to get rid of outdated items from the list, I need to reinstall Firefox completely, but the same thing is happening with every update of Firefox.

Is there a way to resolve this and why is this happening?
