Firefox Can’t Open This Page

After Firefox update on August 14 the top area of browser started jumping continually so I did a restart. After restart had to reinstall Trusteer and McAfee Webadvisor. However my home page changed to Google and I don't want google as my home page. Cant remember what it was before (believe about:home or something similar). When I go to Settings Search and change search to DuckDuck it changed both the address bar and search bar. I am find with Google in Search bar but was my home page to go back to what it was and not Google. I am a senior and not highly computer savvy - please help and list steps so I can not have Google when I open Firefox browser. Thank you

Your new web site with Thought-provoking stories is very sad. I have use firefox for resurch for a long time & now it is bad. I old main site showed the web site that i used. Now it has only 7 sits that I used. So how do i get rede of Thought-provoking stories?????

After downloading the latest OS on my IMac, I can no longer use the microphone on Chat GPT to dictate anything. I keep getting red "enable microphone" messages. In my Firefox settings, the microphone is already "allowed" for Chat GPT. I would like to be able to dictate, rather than type, like I was able to before. Thank you.

i was trying to check my apparmor stuff because of the warning on Linux. Now i tried duck.ai to instruct me , but created more damage than anything else. It said to set firefox in enforcement mode, now it wont start (well im using Firefox right now in complain mode)

How do I fix this problem that everything runs normally and safe?

TLDR I changed the main drive, a full clean installiation. And when I sign in in the browser it doesnt sync anything. Back when I had to change the former main drive the sync function worked perfectly. So I dont know why is just not works anymore.

I rarely used the Mozilla.org site. Use Firefox for about the last 20yrs, love you guys. Logged onto my Win10 laptop, 22Aug2025, about 7pm GMT+1, clicked on Firefox icon, got a little update window, it flashed, disappeared, did not seem to fully update, the screen came on for about 5sec, a flash. Then error messages each time I tried to go onto Firefox. First time this ever happened. When I reinstall I had to spend hours trying to get SYNC to retrieve my passwords, and bookmarks. Also a first, never had this problem previously. Now my history is gone as well as all the sites saved to my Firefox Home Page. What is going on? Also, these messages, I cannot find them in my ACCT. They just do not show up. If anyone answered me, I cannot find the replies. Were you hacked?

I think I did everything on the old computer, and created a recovery key. on the new computer I signed in but, the only email confirmation I received was for the old computer. Signing in from the new windows 11 computer led to being signed with windows 10 as shown under my account.

I recently added ChatGPT as a search engine option. I tried to use the voice interface to simply ask the question instead of typing it out. An error message quickly appeared that stated "To use voice mode, you'll need to enable your microphone and try again." I could not find a way to grant this permission. The only setting mentioning "permissions" was in privacy & security. When I click on "settings" I receive the following message showing websites which have asked for permission so that I could choose to grant it or not, but, what it does not provide is a way for me to grant spontaneously if I choose to. ChatGPT has not requested permission so how do I, without a request from a site, choose to grant them permission to access and use the mic on the laptop so that I can simply talk to it?

I am unable to locate the setting Enable Link preview. I am using Firefox 142.0 on Windows 10 Home 22H2. This setting does not appear under Settings>General>Browsing. Are there other settings that are required to enable this facility?

Re my very recent post about a game on facebook functioning very slowly after the latest update, I now discover a worse problem with a word-game on a different site that I have also played for years on Firefox. Basically, after the new update, I find that I am no longer allowed to complete a move. Given the now 2 problematic situations I have, do I now with great reluctance have to abandon Firefox?

I'm having trouble getting my extensions to show up in the toolbar. Every help article has you start with the puzzle piece icon for extensions, but this is missing from my toolbar. I've tried right clicking to 'customize toolbar' and I am able to drag a extensions icon around, but it's grayed out and doesn't appear when I apply the new settings. This is making my browser virtually unusable since I can't access my password manager, etc.

In short, the extensions icon is missing from my toolbar and no menu options I've found will restore it. Please help!
