Hello!

I first installed Video Download Helper several weeks ago and it worked fine. However, since the update of 04 March, 2026, it no longer works with YouTube. (It does, however, still work with Instagram.) Having checked all of the settings (which I had/have not changed), I uninstalled it today and then re-installed it. This hasn't helped. With YouTube, the Downloader icon (pinned to toolbar) simply remains grey and does not show any videos when opened. I am using the latest, fully updated version of Firefox with Windows 10.

Can anyone help, please?

I suddenly can no longer get my Gmail to appear in my Firefox browser. (I CAN get to +use Google.com, but when I try to go to https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/#inbox", I just get a blank white page.) I did not (to my knowledge) change any settings or have some strange thing happen. Please help!

I've been using alt+a to open new tabs in a multi account container for a long time. Recently that shortcut stopped working possibly with the update to v148 as indicated in this reddit thread.

alt+a is not listed as a shortcut in about:keyboard or in about:addons > manage extension shortcuts or in my ubuntu shortcuts nor in any software I can think of thats running. I've disabled all add-ons except multi account containers and it still does not work. Changing the shortcut to another works fine.

Why would just that shortcut stop working? What else can I do to diagnose the problem?

Since the last update (V. 148.0 ) the translation button in the search bar has gone. I have checked settings there is nothing and there is no translation option in thew hamburger menu. What have you done !!!

FireFox browser closed and when I opened it all my bookmarks are gone, all of my history is gone everything is gone as though I never ever used firefox in my life.

Recently a "gear" icon has appeared on the bottom left of my screen while using Mozilla. It relates to moving the tabs. I don't want to do anything with my tabs. How can I get rid of the icon? The icon reduces the horizontal screen space available. I have a small laptop so this small amount of space is important.

Last week I went through the process of choosing a profile so I would not be faced with choosing whenever firefox opened. ( I was guided through the process by some of you elders.) My bookmarks are all in place but that history no longer accumulates, not even during the session I am in. I must have hit something without knowing it. I have gone up and down settings on several levels, but I can't figure out what will make this work again. It is helpful to have this reference so I would appreciate help. I am running Firefox 148.0 and Thunderbird 148.0. I am in the process of moving everything to a new (to me) computer that will run Windows 11. When I start Firefox from the start menu or the taskbar everything runs as expected. I have the Adblock Plus extension plus several others running. If I click on a Hyperlink in a email in Thunderbird instead of opening in a new tab into the currently open copy of Firefox as it did on my old computer running Windows 10 it opens in a new window with no extensions. I am assuming that I have something set incorrectly. Any help as to where I should look to fix this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Recently, whenever I put a video in PiP, the whole browser freezes. I'm not sure what causes it. The PiP player itself is playing and working fine, it's the browser as a whole that freezes completely. I can play/pause and even pop it back to its tab, but when I do, the browser is inaccessible to me because it freezes, despite the video still playing normally. I can only terminate the browser with Task Manager, otherwise the video will continue playing and the Firefox process goes on the background.

I have tried Googling for a way to fix it, but nothing seems to work. Some of the recommendations were to turn Hardware Acceleration off, allow autoplay, upgrade GPU drivers, and test in Troubleshoot Mode. I have autoplay completely off (including in about:config) and gave an exception to YouTube. I don't think this is the problem though, because I've had it set up this way for a long time, and the browser freezing only started happening recently. I have had Hardware Acceleration off for a while too, so it's not because of that. My GPU drivers are up-to-date (Nvidia). The browser still freezes in Troubleshoot Mode.

The problem is not limited to YouTube. Wherever I can pop the player off with PiP, it will freeze the whole browser (like Twitch or any other site with video player capabilities). I tried playing a video in a different browser and it worked just fine with no freezing, it only happens in Firefox.

I noticed that the common issue people report is the PiP player itself freezing, but my case is the exact opposite. The PiP plays fine while the rest of the browser freezes. I really like this feature and don't want to turn it off if possible. I like to pop the video out and watch it play while I scroll around on my desktop.

Cannot connect to BBC Sounds web page (https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds). Get the following error message: "The page isn’t redirecting properly Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete. This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies."

Have tried with and without a VPN, have cleared the cache, and shutdown/restarted Firefox, but no luck.

Connects without issue when using alternative browsers.

the "Open all in tabs" menu that appears at the bottom waiting for you to click on it by mistake. we need a way to remove that option while also disabling the middle button over the folder to open all bookmarks over the tabs. It also should be a default because been using firefox since version 1 (previously Netscape Navigator back in 1998) and I rarely had the need for something like that.

asked chatgpt and it suggested some fixes but apparently userChrome.css is actively being ignored. from the look of things, seems like I will have to stick to an specific version like I had to do with Thunderbird after version 102 where ugly UI changes were implemented.
