Has support for X11 been removed?

After my pc has been on for a while, seemingly random duration, Im not able to open firefox anymore. For example if clicking on a link in discord, or if I close the browser and want to open it again. I've tried refreshing and reinstalling but that didn't help.

When I try to run firefox 141.0 (Linux x64) I get:

libxul.so: undefined symbol: gdk_wayland_device_get_wl_seat Couldn't load XPCOM.

Is there a way to fix this?

I'm using Slackware 14.2.

where is the browser console? how do i fix it never had an issue with until the last two days?

After update to 140.0.2, clicking on Firefox icon in the dock does nothing. The title bar says Firefox is active, but nothing shows on my screen. What changed? Did you reset something in my preferences?

Tnx, Larry Yesterday I got a full page notice that told me my access to Firefox will be shut down because my Defender detected that I had stepped in some SHXT while visiting something in Firefox. They gave me a phone number of Microsoft something to call to fix it. I did not call because it seemed like malware, I guess it wasn't because soon after Firefox would not load. I will get this when I try: Says: cannot find server v3lpea6ndyxwl4.azureedge.net , I have run Malwarebytes and Defender and rebooted. Any ideas?

I have the latest version (140) of Firefox installed on a Windows 11 laptop with the latest Windows updates. It works fine for my user (who, BTW, has admin privileges) but it won't even start for my wife's Windows user. To be precise, "won't start" means that when you try to launch it it sometimes looks like it's trying to create a window but immediately closes it with no error messages, no crash reports, no logs, nothing at all. It won't even start from the Run menu with any command line flag like -p, -ProfileManager or even -safe-mode, I tried all of them.

Other things I've tried: 1) Check the Windows event logs. Nothing. 2) Run sfc /scannow to check for corrupt system files. 3) Uninstall Firefox, delete the Program Files\Mozilla Firefox folder, and re-install it. 4) Move the entire Firefox folder inside %appdata% to a temporary folder outside users. Firefox recreates it, creates 2 new profiles and dies silently again! 5) ...and a lot of other things that I read online and do not remember anymore.

At this point I'm at a loss and I'm an IT guy. Of course I have no idea how this happened, the browser used to work fine up until a week ago or so. Other software that might interfere is Malwarebytes, but it works fine for my user, so... 🤷🏻♂

I launch Firefox from a shortcut in the QuickLaunch bar. I need to double-click that to get a response. But then TWO instances of Firefox open, and I have to close one - which seems a waste of time and effort over and over and over. My system is x32Win10ProV22H2. How to get just one instance ?
