Firefox 86 for Windows gets a beautiful new Print dialog, with great Print Preview and other functionality. The Mac? Nope!

And there is no technical reason for this! Chrome/Vivaldi/Brave all have a similar dialog box that makes it easy not to waste paper when a website insists on printing a second page for a single word.

Come on, Mozilla! A little feature parity would be nice – especially for such basic functionality!

How do I get all that to open on the other computer "desktop?" On the desktop, the Firefox "synced tabs" sidebar is open and showing all the laptop open tabs...

I am logged into the same Firefox account on both computers which have different names in my Firefox account.

I have a long-standing Firefox account under a primary email ("email1") with a secondary email (email2). I've gotten locked out. Firefox won't let me sign in under email2; it requires email1 for sign in.

For email1, I know the password but have set up two-factor authentication. I have my authentication device and authenticator app. But, perversely, there is no app entry for Firefox. I have Microsoft's app but I have used it only for Microsoft-related sites.

How the Devil I could have enabled 2-factor authentication but lost the Firefox entry for it in the app, I neither know nor understand.

I have access to both email1 and email2. I know all the answers to every secret question I've ever answered. I know everything about me there is to know. I am me after al.

Is there any information, any combination of facts, that might satisfy Firefox that I own my account and let me turnoff 2-factor authentication?

For example, I have both Chrome and Safari accounts set up with the same username and emails, and have access to them. My user name is absolutely unique across the internet. I guarantee that no one other than me has ever used it or could ever duplicate the scheme I used to create it. I have so many accounts set up under that username that it must be patently apparent that the one at Firefox in that username is mine. Perhaps that would satisfy Firefox that I own the same-configured account at Firefox.

Can I get the attention of a live person at Firefox, one that can reason independently, one that can recognize the obvious and certain fact that the account belongs to me?

What can i do? Please don't tell me nothing. I don't care about losing the data. I just want my email addresses freed up so I can open another account.

Hello, Is there a way to use a different theme on one machine (light) and use the dark theme on a different computer but still be able to sync the data?

I have tried this from a previous question https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1242818

Set services.sync.prefs.sync.lightweightThemes to False, but this does not work.

Did it on both macOS machines, closed and restarted the browser, and changing the theme on one browser ends up changing the theme on the other machine.

Is there any way to have to separate themes on two different machines?

Thank you!

I just installed Firefox and found that the browser looks washed out compared to other browsers - Safari, Chromium, Vivaldi, Opera and Brave. The whole things - the browser itself and the web content. Here is an example of my Adguard Home page. Firefox on the left, Chromium on the right. Im using an Apple Mac Mini M1 and the Firefox version is 86.0.1 running the ARM 64 (universal) version. Is there anything I can do? I have tried the old trick of diabling hardware acceleration and it makes no difference whatsoever.

PLEASE tell me how to get Amazon OFF of my Top Sites! I have been reading suggestions but none work. I NEVER EVER USE this darn company. I HATE IT. They are STILL destroying small businesses and NO ONE who has any social conscience should support them.

So WHY is it in my Top Sites? Makes no sense at all. I LIKE top sites so don't want to completely disable it but I want this pernicious evil company GONE from my opening page.

VERY much appreciate any help. Thank you very much.

Refreshing FF was suggested as my iMac would take a long time to start. I did try safemode and realized by refreshing, I could add back the addons I want and leave others. But now I can't find my login/passwords. The page is blank! I wish I had written them down, this is a nightmare. I hope someone has a suggestion to help me find them. I have the folder on my desktop of old FF data but it's a bunch of stuff I don't know what to do with. thank you so very much for reading and helping!!!

Missing .webloc drag-and-drop feature following v70

Firefox historically supported the ability to drag and drop a ".webloc" file for the current website's address on macOS, but the feature has moved around between various updates and has been generally underdocumented.

User @GilDawson posted related questions looking for this feature following the v26 and v61 updates: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1231891 https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/983554

Based on this history, it can be inferred that the feature has been available at different times by dragging the green lock icon, by command-dragging the green lock icon, or by dragging the control center's information ('i') icon.

However, v70 introduced the site information panel, effectively replacing the control center, and nothing about the new panel appears to be draggable with or without modifier keys: https://blog.mozilla.org/security/2019/10/15/improved-security-and-privacy-indicators-in-firefox-70/ https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/site-information-panel

The current documentation for "creating a desktop shortcut" appears to describe the pre-v70 control center under Windows (with no customized article available for "Mac"): https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/create-desktop-shortcut-website

Like @GilDawson, I often used .weblocs in my workflows with Safari and this is now my only real pain point in transitioning to default use of Firefox. I have been launching Safari, pasting in web addresses, dragging out .weblocs from there, and then quitting Safari, which is kind of absurd.

(1) Does the .webloc feature exist in any form on macOS anymore? (2) If so, how is it activated? If not, what would be the best way to report the regression? (3) Should the "desktop shortcut" documentation be updated at some point?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Firefox 86.0 (64-bit) on macOS

When I start to type the URL for an address I use often, for example bar for barnesandnoble.com, I always get barefootyoga.com as a suggestion. I've never visited this website. It's not in my history. I have no idea what it's popping up when typing bar used to autofill barnesandnoble.

When barefootyoga pops up in the URL as a suggestion, I click SHIFT + DELETE, but barefootyoga appears the next time I type bar. (This is happening for almost all other websites where autocomplete used to work correctly--this is just one example.)

I've cleared all history for all time and restarted browser. Same result. After relaunch, I fully typed barnesandnoble.com and visited the website to get it back in history. I opened a new tab, typed bar, and barefootyoga began to autocomplete

In Preferences, I get the same unwanted result with these settings: Search > Search Suggestions > Disable/renable "Provide search suggestions" Privacy & Security > Address Bar > All check boxes selected except for search engine In about:config, I scanned options for browser.urlbar, but nothing looks like it would resolve this issue

I feel as if I am missing something obvious.
