Firefox always immediately crashes on startup, giving a message popup box saying: "We're Sorry Firefox had a problem and crashed. We'll try to restore your tabs and windows when it restarts. To help us diagnose and fix the problem, you can send us a crash report." It then crashes again if I select Restart Firefox, and crashes even if I quit and restart it later.

I have uninstalled Mozilla multiple times with a clean removal and redownloaded and reinstalled and the same thing happens. Also persists even with numerous restarts between removal and reinstallation. Crash ID: bp-fc0e63cc-13b5-4657-995f-8dfa02150919 is one of these crashes.

Firefox used to work all the time every day; this started 4 days ago--no new installs of anything else.

I've been unable to add new bookmarks for a while now - either by click the star next the bookmarks icon in the toolbar (the blue star flying into the toolbar animation happens, however the star remains empty) or from the menu from right clicking a tab. I can add/edit bookmarks if I go into the bookmarks manager.

I know this issue has been raised before, however none of the answers posted (that I've found at least) have helped.

I have tried the places.sqlite solution. It did not help.

I was having problems with Firefox so I uninstalled and reinstalled by downloading a new program from your website. Since then, the only way I can start Firefox is the click on Run as Admin and then click on the Allow Mozilla to change programs on my hard drive.

I've recently made the switch from PC to Mac and am having trouble getting my Firefox data migrated. I'd rather be able to transfer the profile if at all possible (instead of resorting to Sync), because Sync won't transfer my add-ons. The information I'm finding in the KnowledgeBase seems to be dated, so I'm not sure what the problem is.

I was using the newest version of Firefox on Windows 7. I'm now using MacOS Yosemite (whatever version that is; I'm not very Mac-savvy yet). I've copied the entire Mozilla folder from AppData and overwritten the Mozilla folder on my Mac with it, but Firefox is acting like I've done nothing -- I still just have a basic, clean installation. I'm not sure why it's not reading the data I copied over, since I copied the whole thing, INI files and all.

I accidentally clicked "Remove from toolbar" when wanting to pull up what I had downloaded - how do I restore download arrow to toolbar? If I download an update of some kind - or a program, I have to be able to click on that blue up arrow that appears on the upper right hand side of the browser - right? I can't figure out how to restore it! I've even tried closing and re-opening the browser to see if it will rest - but no. I'm no programmer - so I need simplistic instructions! PLEASE help!

When I print a webpage to an .xps or .pdf file, it does create a new file but File Explorer says it is 0 KB in size. These .pdf files will open, but they are blank--the only thing that displays is the outline of a page, with nothing within the outline. When I print to an .xps file, File Explorer says it contains 0 KB. When I try to open it, I receive a message saying that the XPS viewer cannot open the file. These things just started for me several days ago after I installed Firefox 40.0 on a new Toshiba Satellite laptop with the Windows 10 Home OS. I have the current version of Flash Player (in fact, I just tried redownloading and reinstalling the current version; that did not solve the problem). I tried changing the default print-to file format to .pdf, but that did not solve the problem. I contacted the Windows support chat site; they told me it was not a Windows issue. Is this a Firefox issue? If so, can you tell me how to fix the problem, please?

I have Firefox on my Windows XP..................just recently when wanting to click on an Icon on my Desktop the Icons will start flickering and i have to go to the Start section and click on my Internet icon to access my Facebook Homepage. This isnt all the time but out of an hours browsing it will happen about 7 times. Also I run AVG (paid) for 2 scans a day and there no Virus etc. My Facebook is also playing up I do not know if this is related ie page scrolling back up, debugging window popping up if i sometimes go to type a comment...this window is from my Tools heading under the title Debugging.............not having fun at the moment. Also Email page is going mental when all this is going on. Tried refreshing Firefox and it may have helped a bit......but still happening...all of the above. Any suggestions. Thank you.

Out of the blue,I find I cannot access any websites except my Homepage(BBC News) on Firefox. Message reads "This connection is untrusted " I can use both Safari and Chrome browsers with no problem. I have followed Mozilla advice to delete cert8.DB file -having retried this several times with no success. I am using Firefox update 40.0.3. and this is the first time I have experienced this problem.

 All advice and -hopefully -a solution will be much appreciated.

I tried the Microsoft Windows Media Feature Pack (KB3010081), and still nothing. Will you release a new version of firefox that addresses this issue, or is there a way to fix it in the current version which is 40.0.3??

bp-e0b3fd64-4196-4da9-ba62-3e1c72150903 Browser restauration or new installation of the browser didn´t bring any change. I scanned for viruses (Avast, SuperAntiSpayware, Malwarebytes and Stinger) with no viruses found.

It started 4 days ago that some websites like www.reuters.com didn´t load. Also downloading a file only generates files with 0 Bytes. If he loads a website, then the load sign runs permanently. Today the browser can´t start any more. He only generates crash reports. After he asked me to restore the last session, a new crash reports appear.

Come and IE work. However I hate them and want my Firefox back. Please any hints to resolve this

During the last 24 hours I have been unable to run, troubleshoot, or fix this repeated crashing issue with my Firefox browser following extended use of it for several hours uninterrupted -- despite several shut downs and restarts of my Acer Aspire laptop. Every time I try to open Firefox I immediately get the crash report dialogue box and have been unable to open the browser in safe mode or resolve the issue by uninstalling/reinstalling the program. I have taken the precaution of saving the entire Firefox folder containing both the Crash Reports folder, profiles configuration settings, and Profiles (x81friy0.default) folder itself in hopes of eventually restoring as much of the profile to its previous state as possible. For some reason these buttons at the top left of the screen are cut off.

Details:

-When I open Firefox, it is not in fullscreen mode
-The resize buttons are cut off (see image)
-When I go in to the View menu, it says "Exit Fullscreen" even though it isn't in full screen
-If I hit that, it fixes the problem and then the buttons appear and function normally

Hi everyone! Right now, I am having a VERY pesky problem when trying to access my account on RuneScape. I have this problem on EVERY browser I've tried to access it with including: Firefox, Opera, Chrome, and Microsoft Edge. Every time I try to do so or even try to access the login page, I am shown this error message:

The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.

So of course, I ran a Google Search and found several suggestions, none of which have solved my problem. They were...

1: Trying to use about:config to change the settings on some of the SSL-related security strings on there. This did nothing. 2: Trying to temporarily shut off my Avast anti-virus program and then logging into the RuneScape website and uninstall Java. I haven't reinstalled it yet, however, this also did nothing. 3: Trying to allow Firefox, Opera, Chrome, and Microsoft Edge through my Firewall did nothing. The only browser I didn't use to try logging into the RuneScape website was Internet Explorer. 4: Following the steps in this video on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xnf8UjlXBJU did nothing. 5: Trying to add secure.runescape.com as an allowed certificate also did nothing. -_-

After having tried every one of the above steps, I am completely stumped. All I haven't really tried was checking for and installing Windows updates, checking to see if the problem is being caused by one of my Firefox or other browser extensions-A theory I highly doubt-And reinstalling the latest version of Java. Apart from trying all this, I am essentially locked out of being able to log into the RuneScape website and feel as though I am stranded on an Earth with no moon. I have even tried providing a screenshot of the pesky, super-annoying error message as an additional clarification/visual of the error I keep receiving. Every time I change a print setting, firefox makes that the default setting. For example, I want to print one document in landscape, and now all of my documents print in landscape unless I reset firefox or I might want to print to a different printer only once, but now that printer is turned into my default printer. This is a huge pain and I'm am tired of resetting firefox multiple times a day.

I love everything else about firefox, but this issue has me leaving it.

Please fix this issue that has been plaguing firefox users for years! And let me know when you do.

Tried 3 times to import bookmarks but Firefox crashes when it gets to 'bookmarks' after copying cookies and browsing history from the 'items to import' window. Checked all the Chrome bookmarks for errors etc, cleaned them and then tried again but still crashing. It is only Firefox that crashes everything else works OK.
