Sync just does NOT work. I installed FF on my Mac brand new and fresh... brand new machine. Signed into Sync. NOTHING. After 6-7 HOURS... nothing. It just gets NOTHING AT ALL from my Windows Desktop.

I've signed out of ALL Firefox/Mozilla sync sessions... signed in clean- all browsers are up to date. And the about:sync-log page shows a LONG streak of errors... NON STOP ERRORS.

Why?! Why can't we just sync extensions to install and bookmarks across machines? How is this that hard for Mozilla?!

Day after day and attempt after attempt of failures for a basic function of the browser.

Here is the text of the latest log and showing constant connection errors- mind you NOTHING is breaking on my internet as I'm often streaming things and watching stuff while surfing, or others in the house are. Our connection, and Firefox getting online, are all working fine. I am at a loss. I don't understand how this is so terribly broken out of the box that you can't just sign in and let it talk to their servers. I know Google has billions behind Chrome, but this shouldn't be so 1990's bad by comparison to Chrome sync.

From the subject line - I keep getting this error when trying to use Firefox Sync on my Windows 10 desktop. Sync already works on Mac and Android, and I've already verified that I'm using my primary email to login.

Hi, not sure what I'm doing wrong, but my logins and passwords simply will not synch between devices. I principally use a desktop Win10 machine, and an iOS version of Firefox. Have double-checked settings on both devices, tried forcing a manual sync from each to the other, all to no avail. Any ideas on what I need to do differently? TIA.

I want to transfer my bookmarks from Firefox on my old Windows laptop to a new MacBook. I have followed the instruction and signed into Firefox on both devices and click 'synchronise now' on my Macbook.

Nothing has happened.

I would be grateful if you could tell me whether I am doing things incorrectly and if you could tell me how to have my numerous Firefox bookmarks from Windows appear on the new Macbook.

I have a question regarding syncing. Is there a way to remotely remove all synced information from Firefox on a particular PC without actually accessing it? For example, if I sync my home PC Firefox with my laptop or my work PC. Then, one day, for some reason I no longer have access to my work PC, and all of my sensitive information is there. Or if I lose my laptop, or if it is stolen... Is it possible to remove all sensitive information from a remote synced PC? Alternatively, is there a way to remove all synced information every time I close the browser? This way I can remove a particular PC in my Firefox account and once the browser is restarted at the remote location, the data will no longer be pulled and synced. Can this be done? Thanks in advance!

I use Sync on multiple computers for passwords. I have forgotten the Primary password on one of them. If I do a password reset on the one computer, does it affect the passwords stored on the Sync server, or maybe just the key4.db and logins.json folders on the computer being reset? I will not do a reset if the Sync'ed passwords could be affected, I'll just look them up on my phone. Thanks for your help!

Today when I powered on my pc and opened up firefox all tabs were lost.

I have the option to retain tabs when opened up enabled.

I could not find them anywhere, so I had to search opened tabs from the other synced devices and click on each of them, and create again all the tab groups.

This is a big problem if randomly all the tabs can get lost, am I doing something wrong?

Another thing : I thought that when I create groups of tabs, and save them I coul retrieve them across all my synced devices, but the other devices can not see those groups, is this a normal behaviour?

This has been brought up before, but not with this exact question (not that I could find, at least).

I understand that cookies cannot be synced across devices, but this is not what I am asking for. Is there a way to make firefox sync the list of exceptions? Meaning, only the specified website URL and its status, not the cookies from these sites.

The title pretty much sums it up. I even tried drastic measures such as logging out then completely uninstalling Firefox and removing any leftover data on both platforms. After reinstalling and connecting to the Firefox account they will sync with previous data but any new data I add on Windows won't show up on Android and vice versa. I also obviously tried forcing a sync manually... I really wish I didn't have to switch to another password manager any help would be greatly appreciated! :)

XUL Runner platform version 129.01 is not compatible with 129.0 miniversion 129.0 maxversion 129.0 When this happened at first I did not have the use of Firefox. I then went to Firefox and down downloaded Firefox and started over. Then I went to go to my bookmarks and could not find them, bummer. For years I had my Firefox sync working fine between Win10 PC, Android and several Win10 laptops. However yesterday I installed Windows 11 on the same PC I have Windows 10 (bought new disk) just to have a fresh install. Started with installing firefox - and here when problems begin. It couldn't let me log in into Sync, I was being immediately logged out ("Account disconnected"). Somehow I managed to log in, but then all my previous data was erased (passwords, bookmarks). I thought ok, maybe later it's gonna sync. Started installing extensions, saved one password. When trying to sync tabs with Android phone it didn't work, it couldn't see any tabs (but it could share tabs between devices!). On Android I still have old passwords and bookmarks saved, same as on old Win10 (on which I got logged out). Alright - it didn't sync after restart so I removed Firefox profile on machine, started again with logging in - and it synced only ONE password that I saved previously on same Win11 machine, with extensions I freshly installed back then. So it saved to sync improper data, forgetting about old? Logged out from all of my machines in Firefox Account. Now I'm back to my original machine on Windows 10. And what? I can't log in! Same error as on Win11 after install - "Account disconnected". Checked about:sync-log and found error logs - pasted into "Troubleshooting information" of this post.

Yesterday, I noticed after I closed and re-opened Firefox, my browsing session was completely gone - all my tabs and windows, my entire browsing history, website sign-in status, all completely gone. I've been troubleshooting since then.

I've noticed that the 'sessionstore-backups' folder in my profile folder is missing. When I open Firefox, this folder is created and Firefox writes some data to it, but Firefox seems to delete the folder as soon as I quit Firefox. Firefox should not be doing this. My Firefox is configured to open previous windows and tabs, and is NOT configured to wipe any browsing data of any kind when it closes.

As a sanity check, I spun up a Windows Sandbox (briefly, it's a clean, isolated Windows environment) and installed Firefox there. I also enabled the option 'Open previous windows and tabs'. Firefox behaves normally - it re-opens the tabs/windows I had open when I quit Firefox. Great, that's what I expect. The trouble starts as soon as I sign in to sync. After signing in to sync, and letting the initial sync process complete, I open a couple of windows and tabs, then quit Firefox. Firefox begins nuking my browsing session again - the 'sessionstore-backups' folder is erased, and next time I start Firefox, all my windows and tabs are missing, and my browsing history is missing.

So, at this point, I'm assuming something in my synced data has become corrupt. I haven't installed any new extensions lately. I haven't changed any of Firefox's settings that would cause this to happen. The only thing I have done differently lately was enable Firefox Sync in LibreWolf and sign in to sync there. It seems like this session-nuking trouble started after I signed in to sync in LibreWolf. I assumed, since LibreWolf is a fork of Firefox, and because there were no warnings or indications the feature was incomplete/unstable/experimental/etc., that it would just work, that it wouldn't cause any issues. But it seems like it has caused issues. I checked LibreWolf's issues tracker for anything related to 'sync', but I didn't see anything noteworthy.

I've been using Firefox and Sync for numerous years without issue. This session-nuking thing started yesterday.

I use Firefox in a few places, and based on what I saw happen in my Windows Sandbox, this session-nuking issue is going to happen in every Firefox I'm signed in to as soon as it has a chance to sync. Obviously, I do not want this to happen.

What can I do to determine what the issue is? What can I do to check if something in my synced data has become corrupted? What can I do to reverse it? I'm not opposed to completely wiping/resetting my synced data, but I'd rather not if I don't have to. The only thing I would lose sleep over is my bookmarks, but I know I can export them. Are there any debug logs I can enable/look at? Anything I should look for in Event Viewer?

when I try to use face book messenger for video calling I receive the message "video calling is not supported by this browser" I have never had this problem before I agreed to Firefox as my default browser. Is Firefox not compatible with face book?

I had issues with my computer which got me into a situation where i had to delete all partitions of my drives, starting from 0. Signing in my firefox account in a fresh win install suddenly recovers NOTHING and i am now panicking as i had very important accounts & passwords, bookmarks, tabs, extensions, etc. I have tried other devices too without any luck. I need help recovering all these asap.

I have an email account blocked (jgcaller129@gmail.com) and have tried the sync tab at the top corner of my computer. It sends a message with a number to this blocked email to unblock it- how am I supposed to get an email from you on a blocked account. How do I unblock this account. I have tried several times with the same result now the icon to sync isn't there anymore. PLEASE HELP This email is very important to me. I have lost all bookmarks on a new laptop. Recently added C Cleaner and did a scan. That may have caused the problem. But, now I cannot recover the bookmarks, nor can I save new bookmarks. The version of Firefox on my android phone has the bookmarks. I can see them. But, I do not see a way to sync the devices and import the data to my laptop.

I am writing to request assistance with recovering my deleted browsing history for my Firefox account. On June 18, 2024, I accidentally deleted my browsing history and I am hoping there is a way to restore it.

I have both Win7 and Win10 on separate drives. I have been migrating from 7 to 10. From all appearances Firefox on both OS's are sync'd. I have asked for my passwords to be sync'd, yet they have not migrated to Win 10. Bookmarks have so I know something is working. Any advice? Thanks Chris
