In a newsgroup I have a message containing the word 'werewolf' in its body. If I do a control-K search for 'werewolf' I see 'No messages match your search'. In the left of the display I also see 'Filters From Me (0) To Me (0). I don't know what this means and I don't know why the search couldn't find a message containing 'werewolf'. If I do a control-shift-K search and select the 'Body' button I see 'No message found'. The control-shift-F search will not look in message bodies. Why can't I find the message that contains the word 'werewolf'? What am I missing? Alan.

After tried many suggested steps to trouble shooting the problems, it still can't download Comcast emails. It keeps pop up "enter password" or "password failed" again and again. But I can send emails. I can't upload the trouble shooting information file to send. Thanks

What is difference between Thunderbird and Pro version. Would Thunderbird Pro be available as free version or just monthly subscription.

I can't wait until Pro is available to public because I use Thunderbird all time and can also tell me when Pro be available so I can start using it

I deleted an old email address for a friend, but every time I email her, the auto-complete feature includes both the current email address and the one for her old job. I've deleted that one, and it doesn't seem to show up in the Address Book anywhere, so why does it keep coming up in the auto-complete?

It's annoying to me and to the place of employment to have the emails go to the wrong address when I'm not watching very carefully.

How can I make sure this doesn't happen again?

I have a Shaw.ca email account. The outbound email does not work for this account.

The outbound email works fine, it is just the inbound server that refuses access.

Using Linux Mint 22.3. Every time Thunderbird updates it loses the LocalFolders address. In relinking I have in error stored downloaded messages in two different LocalFolder locations. Is there any way to move all the existing stored data to one location?

I am on Ubuntu 22.04.5 using Thunderbird 140.7.1esr (64-bit). After the latest update (from 128.12.0+build1-0ubuntu0.22.04.1) the notifications for mail has changed. Instead of just getting a notice, the notice now allows me to mark as read right within the notification (which is cool), but also now I am getting notifications when Junk mail comes in. Not a notification that it's junk, just that it is a new email.

I do *not* want these to automatically get marked as Read when they come in, as I do want to manually review them in case it's a mistake, and leaving them as unread in my Junk folder makes sense to me in order to make that easier. However, I do not want these notifications on each and every mail. If it's junk it should just silently classify it as such, like it used to. However, I cannot find a setting for this. is there a way to revert to the old behavior without rolling back to an earlier version of Thunderbird? Thanks!

I have always used the default option to block remote content in emails, and I always see the yellow box. However, I happen to have admin access to a server that sends me certain emails, and it has logged when I opened emails from there.

started getting errors 2 hours ago. TbSynch into hotmail.com worked fine for years. On 140.9.0 esr.

Deleted tbsync account, created new app password, and then used Autodiscovery. No go. Used every possible combination offered by tbsync. Kept asking for another password. Dead in water. Filed a debug report. Also use every app password for years.

I use Thunderbird to store loacally some email from gmail and delete it from the online server.

Until october last year it was working flawless, to day I need to read an old email and I discovered that locally since october of some email is only stored the subject and somtime I only have the ticker that increase in the stored email email, but there is either not title or subject. I didn't change any setting in my computer or in the antivirus,, the only thing is that I perform the update of thunderbird as usual. Is it possible to recover these emails or they are gone forever?

Is there a way to view the actual attachments, whether they are PDFs or other file types? Thank you!

I asked previously and didn't find a solution. Because I still needed to get below Yahoo Mail's new storage limits (which take effect on May 5) I completed that objective the hard way.

BUT Thunderbird processed thousands of emails before choking on the single email that stopped it. What became of those emails? What do I need to do at this point?

I want to get a list of email senders to an email account in Thunderbird as it is going to be closed and I want to notify those who still use it. Is there a way to do this?

This is a POP account and the emails are only available in Thunderbird.

I am using Thunderbird 140.9.1esr (64-bit) on a Ubuntu 24.04 system. Every time I restart Thunderbird, it reverts to a little used Gmail account as the default account. I have several accounts, but my main email account is a MS365 account. I reset the setting, but every time it is restarted, the default goes back to Gmail. I have tried everything that I've found online, but cannot correct this behaviour.

Do you have any suggestions or assistance?
