OK let me start with this - I never thought that I would say this but I am truly beginning to truly HATE - I MEAN HATE FIREFOX AND MOZILLA. Here's why. For the past several months (4-6 months) I have been using a website and it crashes. The window that comes up after the crash states two things. #1, a crash log or report has been saved and sent. #2, Click here to re-establish connection to website. Now this has been going on as I have stated that this has been happening every time I use the website. NO ONE from Mozilla or Firefox has ever acknowledged receiving or trying to fix the crash log that is supposedly in your hands after the crash is reported. This has become really annoying. NOW, I have sent numerous email to Mozilla and Firefox asking for the help to solve this issue and what do I get ZIP, NADA, ZILCH as in NOTHING! Why is that - no one has time to deal with the crash logs that are supposedly being sent every time I get a crash?

Just a day or so ago I got an email from a Mozilla guy Wai Tse who said that he wouldn't do anything because he worked for Mozilla and not Firefox. He sent me a link that I opened and when I did it had MOZILLA AND FIREFOX everywhere. So now I am thinking WTF people - is this a personal thing? Am I not donating enough money to your calls for help and monthly to get a response to this issue that you are suppose to be getting information on everytime it crashes. I am giving up and trying to be nice and or patient with you since I have been ignored for months and months.

I'm sitting here thinking that once again I am just jerking off, no one cares no one is going to respond except for Wai Tse who can't take the time from his busy day and go one step beyond his or her job description and HELP.

When I open a pdf file it is automatically saved to my desktop, which is my selected location. I have also checked the always ask where to save files. In settings I have indicated I want pdf files to be opened by Foxit Reader. Other files set to ask open or save.

I also have gone in into about:config and set browser.download.open_pdf_attachments_inline to true based on a previous reply in this forum about this issue.

What can I do to stop the PDF files from being automatically saved to my desktop?

So I just noticed after downloading the new update to Firefox, version 139.0.1 that something new came up in my task manager called Crashhelper. Never seen this before. Closed it down and it seemed to have no issues shutting down at least. I haven't had Firefox crash in recent months, so I'm assuming that this cropping up might be a glitch of some kind? I looked this up to see if anyone else had this issue, and it seems someone on Reddit did encounter this, on Linux, and another on Windows also seems to have run into it. How do we stop this from coming up whenever we start up the browser?

I use duckduckgo page for search in Firefox. Hate my search terms hopping up to the address bar. How to stop this?

A previous search on this question came up with a solution which doesn't work, at least not with latest Firefox version (139.0.1 (64-bit).

I.e., type in searchBar "about:config"

   Accept warning
Search "browser.urlbar.suggest.searches" and change it to false (Do this Only if you want to disable suggesions)
Search "keyword.enabled" and change it to false
Search "browser.urlbar.suggest.searches" and change it to false

DOESN'T WORK.

I have a bunch of profiles set up via "about:profiles". Some of these are associated with different Mozilla accounts, some are not. Today, I wanted to rearrange those profiles to put some older profiles that I do not use as often lower on the page than more recent profiles. I thought I remembered there being an overview text file that included a number for each profile, the folder that profile's information was stored in, etc. When I went looking for that file, I could not find it, so I went looking for help articles and discovered that there is a new profile management tool.

When I tried using the new profile manager via "about:profilemanager", none of my current profiles are visible, so I cannot use that tool to reorder my profiles.

I would be grateful if you could point me to an article explaining how to reorder the profiles in "about:profiles". If that is not possible, I would appreciate a help article explaining the rationale for making these two uses of the word "profile" distinct, the ways in which these profiles are different from each other, and how to transfer settings from the older version to the newer version. I have everything set up just the way I like it within my current profiles and really do not want to have to recreate them from scratch...

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/https-upgrades SSA says Firefox will "upgrade" me, but their provided link doesn't go anywhere helpful. I tried doing several things I found on the help page https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/https-upgrades "Firefox connection upgrades - HTTP to HTTPS ", but I still get this "Forbidden Access".

I have tried to contact SSA (left an e-message) and will keep trying, but my God, they were impossible to get by phone even before Trump and Musk cut everything, so I'm not going to even try that. Can you help me?

I used the CSS animation property called animation-timeline , which is written as:

element{ animation-time: view(); }

When I view the webpage on Chrome, Edge, Opera, and even on Phoenix browser, the animation works.

It is only on Firefox that the animation does not work. I even added the Vendor-prefix of " -moz-animation-timeline " to the CSS property, and it still didn't work on Firefox, while it is working on all other browsers.

The CAN I USE website ( https://caniuse.com/?search=animation-timeline ) tells me that Firefox does not support it at all.

It however said that I can enable it, by setting "layout.css.scroll-driven-animations.enabled" to true.

1.) I don't know what that means.

2.) Would my website's users be able to see the animation on their Firefox browser, if we assume that I make this setting ?

3.) I am using Firefox version 138.0.3 (64-bit) : What can I do to see that both I and users of my website are able to see this animation on Firefox ?

Regards.

Lately, whenever I try to open a PDF from a website open in Firefox, the tab crashes and the PDF does not open. An error stating that the Windows file-dialog has crashed is displayed at the top of the tab. I tried to attach a screenshot of the error but that action only generates another error.

This condition does not occur when I try to open the same PDF from the same website open in either Chrome or Edge, the PDF opens properly which leads me to believe the problem is in Firefox and not my Adobe installation.

Thank you

I used to be able to take a block of emails and delete them all with one click. Now I have to open everyone individually to delete it. Sometimes when I see what it's about, or who it's from. I just want to send it away to the trash. And I can't do that without opening it first. How do I change it?? before I would highlight the first one that I wanted to delete, hold down the shift key and go down to the bottom one that I want to have deleted in the list and all of them would highlight, and I could hit the delete key and they were all gone. I can't find a police in settings to fix that problem.

Hi, In the last hour FF has stopped working completely. I made the mistake of using Ccleaner, which is probably the problem, I haven't had issues cleaning before, though I usually check the registry before deleting and don't recall seeing any entry for Mozilla (I may be wrong, though).

Firefox was working fine a couple of hours ago, but now it won't open at all, except in admin mode and then it won't open any links or tabs, not even settings. I've uninstalled FF, deleted the folder in the Programs folder, and reinstalled it from scratch, but there is no change (the one difference is that it wouldn't open in Admin after before I reinstalled it). Waterfox doesn't open either, but Thunderbird seems to work with no problems.

Thanks, Matt

Using 2025-04 Cumulative Update Preview for Windows 10 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5055612) Firefox 138.0.1 (64-bit) and says it is up todate. I have looked at the about:config to find the browser.tabs.remote.autostart but it does not exist in the list of processes. I have also unchecked in settings both performance options intermitently to try and correct this problem, but nothing happens: (unchecked) Use recommended performance settings Learn more These settings are tailored to your computer’s hardware and operating system. (Unchecked) Use hardware acceleration when available Nothing pops up to allow choosing a different number as many support articles say. I have AdBlocker running as an add on and turned off the duck duck go privacy essentials and still nothing stops these insane amount of processes clogging up my computer. right now, on this page there is only this tab open and there are 13 processes running. Please send real fix instructions- thank you
