When I have the quick filter row displayed I can type something to search for. There is a row of "filters", like "unread", "tag", etc. that I can select to narrow down the set of messages to search in. But there's no indication which filter is active. The row of filters looks exactly the same whether they are active or not. As a result, it's hard to know if I'm not getting results because there aren't any or because I've clicked a filter by accident or have forgotten I did.

Hi, Every time I search using Firefox (especially through the address bar or default search), SafeSearch is automatically enabled — even though I never turned it on and don’t want it. I’ve tried checking Firefox settings, search engine settings, and even my browser profile, but nothing seems to work.

I’m not sure if this is a browser setting, an issue with my account, or something being forced externally (like by Google or Bing).

Can someone tell me:

Why SafeSearch is always on?

How can I turn it off permanently?

Is this tied to Firefox itself or to the search engine provider?

Using latest Firefox version on Android 15.

Hi, Can't understand what's happening with "search" I find in "account" a "none" with 2 old mails I thought effaced, but on clicking "can't have a value" the titles and first lines are shown, however on clicking on title I get "no message found" same with "show as a list" These 2 mails are also in a folder with same problem. How can I clear up and try to understand "search"

I switched my default search engine from Google to Bing. As you can see in the attached screenshot, it should be searching with Bing. But for some reason the search results are always Google. How do I fix this? I haven't refreshed Firefox yet. I was hoping to avoid that.

Hello Please, how can I make Thundebird from main search menu (on the top) to sort the results automatically from newest (forever?).

I get them always from oldest.

I sort them.

Even when I click the small icon on the right, and make "descend", by new search, I get those oldest at first :-(

With the years, it slowly sucks.

Finding the folder an email is in, search just returns the emails. I have never seen the "Search Box" or the "View in Folder" button. How do I find the folder my search result lives in? Or for that matter, how do I find a subfolder that got moved by accident?

After converting from Outlook to Thunderbird, I can see there are 23 unread mails in my Inbox. My problem should have a very simple solution, but I cannot find any. How do I filter my messages in the Inbox to show only those unread???

I can't figure out how to add a custom search shortcut, is this no longer possible in Firefox (without installing addons/extensions)?

I recall 'custom search' being more or less ubiquitous, and feel like there was an "Add" button below the Search Shortcuts UI not that long ago.

Bookmarks with keywords would be a reasonable workaround if it weren't for having to prefix the keyword to the search terms.

Hello, Just updated to the latest FF on Windows and I want the old search engines option.

Now there's a dropdown menu to choose from, which is nice but makes a redundant click (click the dropdown and click again to chose).

Before the update, after typing a string, I would have at the bottom of the the search bar a list of the available engines, clicking one of the icons, would start the search, thus only 1 click.

Is there a way to get this back?

Hi, Google, is my search engine of choice on Mozilla Firefox, and the Os on my computer is Windows 10. Google search is no longer active from any scroll down or top tab bar. Have a nice day.
