hello LindaKSorden, does the problem still exist when you reset firefox (this will keep your bookmarks and passwords)?

otherwise please do a clean reinstall of firefox. uninstall firefox from the windows control panel & make sure that the firefox program folder got deleted (usually resides in C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox), otherwise remove it manually. then redownload firefox from getfirefox.com and install it again.

please also do a full scan of your system with the security software already in place and/or a different tool like the free version of malwarebytes since popups are usually a sign of malware active on the pc.

I have already done the virusware and found nothing. I will try the uninstalling and re-installing. I'll let you know. Thanks

Yes,. tried reset. I have given up and downloaded another browser. It was to the point that you couldn't do anything without the pop ups. Thank you anyway.

Try to boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that works.

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

You can also do a check for a rootkit infection with TDSSKiller.
