Where the heck is Plugin Container.exe?

For whatever reason, Plugincontainer.exe is not starting up at all. Why is it not showing up? I'm pretty sure that my build of Firefox should have it, since it's been a feature for a good while. This is getting annoying because without it, my browser crashes far more often.

Milliard, have you updated to Firefox 14? If you have, once you are up to date, the plugin container should be working. If not, you can Reset Firefox. Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings

plugincontainer.exe is a wrapper that holds plugins (such as Flash, java, etc.) so that if they crash, it doesn't crash the whole browser. What is plugin-container.

You are using a very old and out of date version of Firefox (3.6.28) that not only is very slow and does not support modern web standards, has many many known security holes that are being actively exploited. Please update immediately to Firefox 13.0.1, which is not only much faster than Firefox 3.6, it uses less memory, has many new features and bugfixes, and is quite secure. You can download it from www.getfirefox.com

I'm using Firefox 13.0.1 and I don't get a Plugincontainer.exe either. Seems to have stopped working since some recent update.

So, where did the plugin container go? Your response tells me what it is (something I knew about already and not seriously related to the nature of my question), and gives me a link to a page I looked at previously to see if it had the answer before I posted the question.

I want a solution please, not a sales pitch.

I've updated to Firefox 14 and I still don't have a Plugincontainer.exe in the task list, even after resetting.

If you go to youtube.com and start to watch a video, do you have it?

Please type about:support into your address bar, and paste the contents of that into this page. Also, do the same for about:plugins.

Hi Tylerdowner:

Actually it did work resetting Firefox. It popped up when I watched a youtube video. Thanks a bunch! :)

I updated to Firefox 14, and wow... it worked. Thanks for that.

Although the fact that it stopped working even though it was a feature since 3.6.4 is still sort of odd.
