Today, June 10, 2012, I was asked to update Adobe Flash player, which I did. I was also asked to update Real Player, which I did. I had also updated Firefox before that.

Now, whenever I try to watch a video on Youtube, I get the message: An error occurred. Try again later.

I am using a Dell Inspiron laptop with Vista home basic.

P.S P.S Forums are never the option. Its far better to figure it out yourself. Firefox and Youtube only run of flash. So it can only be to problem flash itself or the flash plugin. As you have installed the new version of flash it can only be the new version conflicting with the plugin.

Uninstalling RealPlayer resolved the issue for us as well, however this does reflect poorly on FireFox as a reliable browser. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people switch to other Browsers as a result of this.

Here is my quick fix that will let you play any video on YouTube.com ASAP. Since Google owns YouTube, it would be convenient for them to sync both systems to function in harmony with one another. (Play YouTube videos in Chrome Browser) which also belong to Google. Let me know if it works  ; ) And yes I had the same problem as you guys when you try to play a video on YouTube with FireFox, "An err have occurred. Please try again later."

Hi deeny111, please see this article so you can get Youtube working in Firefox again: Flash 11.3 doesn't load video in Firefox.

No problem with using YouTube on Chrome.

Flash 11.3 doesn't load video in Firefox. This seems to have been the problem. Since I uninstalled it and reinstalled the earlier version of Flash all is well in computerland !

All you have to do is update the plugin. Its not that hard. You dont need to change to chrome or uninstall realplayer. just simply click on addons and press 'check to see if the plugins are uptodate'. As i said before when reinstalling the new version of realplayer it does not update the plugin to firefox.

Hi easternodyssey, please note that the latest Flash (11.3) is causing problems for some users. Those users can roll back to 11.2 or, if they want more security, 10.3. Not everyone will improve their situation by installing the latest version.

The link above which blames the Real Player for this issue is INCORRECT!! Real Player is just fine; leave it alone! The real source of the problem is that Flash Player 11.3 is INCOMPATIBLE with Firefox! To fix, for now, is to UNINSTALL the 11.3 version and INSTALL the 11.202.235 version it replaced! Use the Adobe uninstaller to remove 11.3; verify with the version find page before and after.

All of the needed links are posted above by either myself or Cor-el! Version find page, Adobe uninstaller, and the 235 version of 11.2. Most can be also found by Googeling them.

Adobe is aware of this problem and is actively working on a solution. You should hear from them soon. In the meantime, do the roll back to 11.2 and remember to reset the updates of the Flash Player in the Control Panel from "auto" to "notify me" so you can control it, or else it will undo your roll back. Posted, tweeted and DMed for the umpteen time!!

Well, with the great advice from Cor-el and OldeGreyWoolf, I thought the problem was sorted, and in a way it was. I was once again able to see videos posted on my FB, and on youtube.

Problem is, the videos I download I can no longer play because now Real Player is saying it needs an add on, and that add on is Adobe Flash, but when I follow the path it wants me to go, I still can't view the videos, and can no longer view them online either.

Firefox, for the love of all that is electronic, please fix this glitch! >.<

Just found the cause to that problem and i think the problem is incompatibility. Try running it on windows xp(service pack 2), worked for me.

An error occurred. Please try again later.

To fix this, just follow these simple steps:

   Open RealPlayer.
From the upper left corner menu, choose Preferences option.
From the left hand panel, choose Download & Recording.
Uncheck ”Enable Web Download & Recording for these installed browsers”.
Hit Ok to confirm and close RealPlayer.
   Restart Mozilla Firefox.

Disable your Shockwave Flash plugin. Then see if it works by watching a video on YouTube. Note: There will be a quick notification that says the plugin is disabled. Ignore it and few seconds later the video will load up.

Or try this one: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/que.../929128#answer-342041

If nothing works, I guess the older version will, I hope.

Hi Kazuyuki, although YouTube has a lot of html5-format video as an alternative to Flash, most sites that rely on Flash won't work with the Shockwave Flash plugin disabled.
