Firefox crashes
I've been having frequent exception violation crashes with several applications. Firefox initially would work for a time and then crash. I've tried tweaking the system (mostly cleaning the registry etc.) and I found one of my ram cards to be defective and removed it. Now Firefox crashes on startup whether in normal or safe mode. I'm submitting this request from another computer since I can't run Firefox on the failing computer and I can't get into Mozilla crash support using IE (which works fine BTW). In IE, the startup page just cycles endlessly asking one to register or sign in. So the system info accompanying this is misleading. The computer on which Firefox is failing runs MCE 2005.

upgrade your browser to Firefox 8 and try
After removing the defective memory I re-installed FF 3.6 and so far it appears to be stable. I probably will install FF8 (I have on this computer) on the problem computer. My reluctance to update FF has always been the prospect of losing add-ins that don't keep up with the FF version. But most of the ones I really value are compatible with FF8. Thank you for looking at my problem report.
