Oh dear, Oh dear Mozilla just been Mozillad.... just a fix of Firefox 4 , nothing new nothing bold!

Forget the Jone's and Chrome just give us something simple that works and adaptable for goodness sake.... you can worry about beating the competitors after you got something 'usable'!

Can't you see people are either downgrading or switching browsers what the hell's going on at Mozilla, sure looks like you have a big, big problem there?

And why use WebGL... it's flawed and opened to hackers! Don't believe me do a Google search or see the Register http://www.theregister.co.uk/2011/05/11/chrome_firefox_security_threat/

NOTE: This not just applies to FF4 & 5 but also to latest versions of Chrome, Safari and Opera. Web GL is the 3D rendering and you are advised to turn it off, reading the article it seems to suggest WebGL don't give two hoots about the flaw!

How the heck do you manage to use 512mB of RAM for a browser? Just how much more will you want after any fixes and updates huh?

I believe Google delayed the update intentionally to piss off Firefox users and to hurt their market share. It is ridiculous that they couldn't update one line of code with 10 days already. They do this in hope to increase Chrome's user base. After all it doesn't make sense to financially support both browsers. I thought only M$ would do things like that, so much for their "don't do evil" bs.

I'd go back to firefox 4 to get the google bar back, but I'm not sure if I'd lose all my bookmarks or not, so I may have to stay with 5 unfortunately.

It looks like I've lost a few of the plug ins I had too, I found the email notifier useful on version 4 ...

I don't know and I don't care what firefox's problems with google are but I do wish they would figure it out and just get over it.

a.joom's solution of changing MaxVersion to 6 in .rdf file seems to have worked for me. Thanks, a.joom.

Hey all, just to pipe in, it's Google's fault, not Mozilla's, as they own the Google Toolbar and are ridiculously late with the update. Anyway, the compatibility extension works like a dream, and will get the toolbar working in Firefox 5.

Firefox had been trying to get me to upgrade to 5.0 for weeks, but I had been made aware of the Google Toolbar problem, so I was postponing the install (I didn't want to use the Compatibility Reporter as recommended) . I stumbled across the method described by the member a.joom, i.e. drilling down into my system, and performed the # change procedure from 4.0* to 6.*... it worked flawlessly. When Firefox later asked to upgrade, I approved, and the 'cure' mentioned fooled firefox into thinking the Toolbar was totally compatible. My Neph, who had lost his toolbar in an upgrade 2 weeks ago, followed the same procedure, and upon restart, his toolbar came back as well, as if it had never disappeared.

My whole-hearted Thanks to "a.joom" for a very simple "fix" regarding the install.rdf file change.

a.joom's solution on page 1 works perfectly first time. I guess it wont be too much longer before Google issues an updated version anyway.

Just a thought: As Google is responsible for upgrading this app to be compatible with FF5 (?), and it's possible that Google is telling Mozilla to "go fish" so everybody will convert to Chrome - There's already a search box in Firefox. Why doesn't Mozilla just tell THEM to "go fish" and incorporate the popular parts of the Google Toolbar into Firefox! Stuff like 'AutoFill', 'Highlight Search Items' etc. ?

Sorry but I would ask. It's so hard to build an add-on, with the same features of the google tool bar that we all of us who have trouble to install the new version of Firefox;

fixitman2001, please stop spreading this incorrect misinformation about Firefox 4.0 and newer and that one should wait two years for a Firefox version to be out first before using.
