Is there anyway to remove the "Bookmarks" icon from the bookmarks toolbar?

I have all my bookmarks on the toolbar.. and in its own row right under that, theres "Bookmarks" with an icon and a drop down menu which is such a waste of space.. is there any way u can remove that?
