yes you can:

suppose your old firefox profile is :

abcde.default
 

copy " abcde.default" to ...Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\

open Mozilla\Firefox\profiles.ini

edit the line: Path=Profiles/xxxxxx.default to Path=Profiles/abcde.default

that didnt work on windows 7 there are two profiles folders in appdata /Roaming and /local i have copied my old profiles folder and profiles.ini to both of these folders i opened firefox my tabs were back, but history is gone, passwords are gone

The bookmarks and the history are stored in places.sqlite , so you need to copy that file to the current Firefox Profile Folder.
