msnbc's "newvine" will not save my password even though they don't block passwords and I have cookies enabled. How can I fix this?

Under Tools/Options/Security, I have "Remember Passwords for Sites" checked. Under the "Privacy" tab I have "Use custom Settings" and the following boxes are checked: - Remember history for 90 days. - Remember download history. - Remember search and form history. - Accept cookies until they expire. (I have not entered any exceptions.) When I try to log in to the MSNBC Newsvine site, it autofills my email address, but not the password. I contacted help at Newsvine (nvhelp@msnbc.com) and they told me: "That would be a setting on your browser--you probably need to allow cookies so that your browser will remember your password. It's not the website itself that remembers it. Your browser auto-fills passwords when it knows what they are." Since I have cookies enabled in Firefox, I don't think this can be the problem. The web site claims that it doesn't block passwords being remembered. Also, I do recall asking Firefox to remember the password for this site at one point. I'd appreciate your help with this. Thanks.
