This has been happening since I bought my new iMac with snow leopard and downloaded Firefox. This does not happen with Safari. I have checked the forums and mozzilazine and google to no avail.

  • Websites remembering you and automatically log you in is stored in a cookie.
  • You must allow that cookie (Firefox > Preferences > Privacy > Cookies: Exceptions), especially for secure websites and if you let cookies expire when Firefox closes
  • Make sure that you do not use Delete browsing, search and download history on Firefox to clear the "Cookies" and the "Site Preferences"

Try to clear the cookies from sites that cause problems.
If clearing the cookies doesn't help then it is possible that the file cookies.sqlite that stores the cookies is corrupted.
You can rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite and cookies.txt, if they exist, in the Profile Folder in case cookies.sqlite got corrupted.

See Fix login issues on websites that require a username and password (Remove corrupt cookies file)
