how do I install the lastest upgrade to firfox on a Linux os
I downloaded the lastest version of firefox but don't know what to do next in order to use this new version.,

Most Linux distros that came with Firefox 2.0 versions need an update of the GTK package, at least. Overall, you are probably better off upgrading your version of Linux to take advantage of the improvements made in the last couple years, rather do a piecemeal update of specific packages.
