In the middle of a session all of my bookmarks disappeared, they won't restore, and I can't make new bookmarks.

I was using Firefox and my Bookmarks Menu had all of my Bookmarks (I used them several times). Later, during the same session I went to the Bookmarks Menu again to use another Bookmark and now all of my Bookmarks are gone. I also can't create new Bookmarks. How could they all of a sudden be gone if they were working just fine earlier in the session?

Operating system

Windows Vista

Hi.

The most likely scenario is that a bookmark related extension you have installed caused some issue. Simply restarting the browser should fix the issue.

Additional Troubleshooting Info: I also tried restarting my browser, restarting my computer, and all of the help options I could find on the Mozilla website, but still no luck.

Please try to run Firefox in Safe mode (to disable extensions) to see if they come back.

Thanks for all of your help! I ended up having to completely uninstall Mozilla Firefox from my computer. Then I reinstalled it and was then finally able to restore my Bookmarks (through Bookmarks / Organize Bookmarks / Import and Backup / Restore). I spent a good 3 hours on this!
