Hi everyone,

I’m new to Thunderbird. I’m using version 149.0.2 (aarch64), and I’ve noticed that when I receive one or more attachments, I only see a file called winmail.dat.

Is there a way to view the actual attachments, whether they are PDFs or other file types? Thank you!

Hi David,

I saw this article, but the Lookout is not available for the current version. Does this mean I cannot see those attachments? Unfortunately, it's not feasible to contact everyone who uses that system and tell them what to do.

Thank you!

Well, this is a problem created by the sender. Telling the sender is my first suggestion. the Lookout fix works with the ESR release. You can write to the developer to inquire when a new release might be available. There is also a website at https://www.winmaildat.com/ that may work for you. But this is not a thunderbird problem. I wish you well in resolving this.
