Unable to re-install gmail account in Thunderbird. Error 400 malformed server.

Two gmail accounts could not access the server. deleted one and tried to re install it without success.The accounts and passwords were not in the "saved passwords" in settings. The accounts and passwords for comcast are there and those accounts work fine.

Do you have cookies disallowed? I find conversations on the net mentioning that they got this error message when they had cookies disallowed, and it went away when they allowed them.

In my experience, Gmail requires cookies.
