Downloaded PDF padlock

For the past YEAR or more, every time I choose to download a PDF (whether by saving a web page via file/print/save to PDF or by downloading an actual PDF via emailed link) my saved PDF has a padlock. I am forced to remove each padlock individually by adding 'users' under permissions. There is no way to do this for more than one file at a time.

This never used to happen in the past and I've made no changes to my PC or to my Firefox settings. I know it's a FF thing because if I save my own MS Word files to PDF there is no padlock.

Is there ANYTHING I can do to finally stop this and download PDFs without a padlock?

Thanks.

That sounds more like a site permission and not something Firefox browser does. Did you check with the site why they padlock their PDF.

It can't be site specific.. No matter which site I'm on, if I click 'File/print/Destination' save to PDF it saves with padlock. No padlock occurs unless saving a web page to PDF or downloading a PDF - all via Firefox. (ie. if I choose to save THIS page by clicking file/print it will save it with padlock (which it did).

Did you get any errors when it did this? Before clicking ok on the save to pdf did you see if there was other options on the save as pdf to change this?

No, I never get security warnings or errors of any kind.. just that for years now every time I save a PDF from the web it's padlocked.. but if I have my own doc and save it as PDF no padlock. (Just to reiterate.. it's not just downloading an already PDF but clicking print on FF menu in order to create and save a PDF like I did for THIS page in the previous attachment. ) I don't know if during one of the many FF updates over the past years it changed to this or if it's just me but it really bugs me -as does having to change permission to add 'users' to remove it. I've attached what I see when I click print (aside from PDF the other options are types of printers.. I specifically WANT print to default to save as PDF). Is this a standard FF thing or is it just me? I see no security options in FF settings for this and I never chose any.

Thanks.

Can you give a link to a example site doing the same issue not a login site so others can just see if their Firefox version does this or not? Also do you have Acrobat reader plugin installed? I know Firefox has a basic PDF reader built in and wondering if something has gone awry with PDF saves?

If I understand what you mean: you want me to repeat but not a site like this where I'm logged in? Ok.. attached is a random website and I saved the page I was on as PDF. I don't have reader installed as a plugin on FF, just on my PC.

So these are the steps I have to do every time I save a PDF from a web page (pics 1-9) Or if I download a file that is already in PDF form. (10-13)

I can understand a downloaded PDF having a padlock but not as much why ME saving a page as PDF via print has it.

It's not a huge deal but I would like to know if this is for everyone (something done with one of the FF updates) or just me. Thanks!

You don't post sites where the problem is happening why? If others can't replicate the issue how is just posting screenshot and no site to test the issue?

I'm sorry.. I'm pretty sure I said EVERY single site.. I can't post a link for every site I visit.. I randomly picked a website (which clearly shows) and showed the steps I have to go through to save anything as a PDF and steps to remove the padlock.
