Changing email address from POP to Imap on Thunderbird Pc
If you change your Thunderbird setting on your PC from POP to Imap, how do you change setting on phone if you are not allowed to change them? Do you have to delete existing POP account and setup/add the new Imap version. ? Can you also force stop the POP account and try to change settings that way?

You can't change from POP to IMAP by just changing the settings. The account has to be added as a new IMAP account:

Copy the POP Inbox to Local Folders, if messages aren't kept on the server after download, and copy any POP subfolders to Local Folders, add the account as IMAP, then remove the POP account.

Thanks for the reply. I would assume you would have to do the same thing on your phones pop account? I would have to create and configure a new imap account and delete the old pop account?
Most mail apps on phones default to IMAP, unless you explicitly set it up as POP. Look at the folder structure, as POP only downloads the Inbox, not other folders you normally see in webmail , such as Spam.
