Thunderbird crashes shortly after starting, with the message: We're Sorry Thunderbird had a problem and crashed etc.

The details are below: I noticed that when I click "About Thunderbird" it seems to try to update the version and immediately crashes, otherwise it takes a little longer before it crashes (less than 1 minute) The current version is 128.5.2esr Please help!

This is caused by Bitdefender.
