Thunderbird works after a complete Laptop Clone to a new laptop. BUT both laptops now prompt for a Master Password which wasn't there, so I have no idea what it needs.

I gather the only way to reset it will delete ALL my passwords gathered for over 20 years.

I would like to do that - after copying whatever file actually contains the old passwords, then put back that password file.

Is this possible, and if so what do I do ?

Thanks, Richard

Had you at some point updated Thunderbird and skipped some major version numbers?
