For the past two or three days, the audio in Firefox and WhatsAppWeb videos has not worked on Windows 10. On the rest of the apps in the system it works. I have done everything suggested in these articles

to no avail.
If the audio of some apps works (Spotify, AIMP), the audio of others does not.
I had problems with all video files, from those embedded in newspaper pages to youtube.
I have now reinstalled IDT High Definition Audio CODEC and it seems to have solved the problem for Firefox, but I still can't hear the audio in Whatsapp
In general, it solves only if I troubleshoot from Windows Setting and reinstall the IDT High Definition Audio CODEC via that page. But it's not a viable solution, there must be a permanent fix.
Does anyone have any idea what's going on and why?
