To uninstall WhatsApp: Select WhatsApp on the apps menu. Press Options > Uninstall > OK or Uninstall.

The current requirements for WhatsApp seem to be Windows 8 or higher or Mac OS X 10.10 or higher and Firefox 60 or higher, no special mention of supporting Linux, so you need to install a more recent Firefox version if you would want to use WhatsApp.
