I have mistakenly forgotten a website. But i still have it (the data) on another device(ipad). Can i somehow sync my data only from my other device instead of my firefox account?

Good evening,

as i've already mentioned i have forgotten a website. Luckily i still have all of my data on my ipad. I disconnected it from wlan and then removed sync option. So it shouldn't delete my data as soon as i connected to my internet again. But my big question is, if i active sync once again, won't everything be deleted or can i somehow choose what i like to keep? Or will it just overwrite everything? What will sync do in this case? Perhaps there is even a better solution to my problem...?

Best regards

Chosen solution

Good morning,

i've already solved my problem. For anyone interested i made a second account and from there i synced my data from my ipad. Then on Windows i logged into my second account and used export data. It saved the data in a csv file. And on my first account i used this file to retrieve my lost data. The function import from data may be disabled so you will need to active it.

Thank you for the replies.

Best regards.

Hi Alex, do you mean the "Forget About This Site" function erased the history for a particular site?

If your mobile Firefox shows history from your Windows PC, that might indeed get updated on the next Sync. However, I don't think your mobile history will be affected. Or maybe history isn't the problem?

Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox for this domain like history and cookies and passwords and exceptions and cache, so be cautious. If you have a password or other data for that domain that you do not want to lose then make sure to backup this data or make a note. You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of involved files.

If you revisit a 'forgotten' website then data for that website will be saved once again.
