I have a MacBook Pro. Is there any way to clear my cookies and cache without losing my Firefox email program?

What do you mean by 'Firefox email program?' Thunderbird? A website?

If you follow the instructions, only the cookies and the cache should be cleared.

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache.

My Firefox Gmail program is where my inbox is and bookmarks, categories, history, tools, etc. The last time I cleared my cookies and cache my Firefox Gmail program disappeared and I had to go to a Geek Squad technician at Best Buy to get it back. I've been having issues with my McAfee virus protection program and wonder if cookies could be the cause.

Firefox accesses Gmail for you. It is not a separate program. Check your settings:

Your ‘logged-in’ status is stored in special cookies. If the cookie is removed, you are logged out.

You may be in Private Browsing mode or told Firefox not to remember.

Type about:preferences#privacy<enter> in the address bar. The button next to History, select Use Custom Settings.

Turn off Always Use Private Browsing Mode Turn on Remember My Browsing And Download History At the bottom of the page, turn on Clear History When Firefox Closes. At the far right, press the Settings button. Turn on ONLY Cache and Form And Search History leaving the others off.

Macs: Make sure you install Firefox properly and that you do not run Firefox from within the DMG (Disk Images) file.
