Hi... I am using the latest version of Firefox (88.0) for my 64 bit Dell laptop. I have checked a few times over a period of weeks in settings, General section, the box marked as - Always check if Firefox is your default browser is checked. Underneath this line I see one line with a smiley icon indicating it is NOT. I have several times gone through the process to make it my default browser and, when checking that it is, it ALWAYS displays as the default browser. So... I have no idea why this line continues to be displayed. Anyone have any thoughts? I can find no info on this issue.. thanks Brian

Do you really want it to check? I have never selected that option. I know that FF is my default browser.

Could be you are misreading the line.

Not sure how to reply to your responses... My Q was, should the line be displayed at all if FF is my default browser? Doesn't make much sense to me... And, as to whether the box in the line above it should be checked... I can't find any definitive doc. on it either.

I looked at the setting in my browser. Somehow FF knows without checking (confirms FredMcD's screenshot).
