I have the Firefox in both my PC and laptop. Both my PC and laptop have dual boot Windows 10 and Ubuntu 20.04 with the latest updates. Firefox is in version 87 also fully updated in both OS in both machines. When I try to download anything whatever the size of the file is I see the little that shows downloading has started and then it vanishes and shows that the download has failed. I've already tried cleaning the cache, the history and the downloads history but nothing worked in any of my systems. Can anyone please help?

Go to the Mozilla Add-ons Web Page {web Link} (There’s a lot of good stuff here) and search for a download manager.

This download manager works separately from the browser. The browser tells it what to download, and off it goes.

http://www.freedownloadmanager.org It is a powerful modern download accelerator and organizer for Windows and Mac.

Thank you for taking time to answer me but this doesn't solve my problem which is that the browser is not functioning as it should be without any addons. So thank you again but I would prefer a clean solution without any addons and I will keep this as a last resort.

You aren't sharing the profile for both Linux and Windows as that will lead to issues ?

Both OS's and machines are synced if you mean that but I didn't transfer the profiles from one to another.

Can you use OBS to record the screens and post it YouTube so that we can see the issue.

Do you see anything that tells you why it failed?
