using apps in 'in a web browser' rather than as a download

Trying to download Slack and Ebay apps -- both function on this computer but are not present as downloads -- read that "slack can be used in a web browser, but we recommend downloading" and think that that is how I am able to use it -- want it downloaded -- do I have to change setting on Firefox to make this happen. This computer came loaded with Windows 10 -- this is not an upgraded computer. Is my problem with Firefox or Windows 10.
