How do I prevent having to log into Sync every time I click on new tab?

I just was asked to download Firefox Sync. I thought it was just a new version of the same old Firefox. Now, when I try to open a new tab, I have to sign into Sync again!!! This really slows me down! Please tell me how I can get out of this. Jen

Sync is an optional feature in Firefox. Unfortunately the "marketing hype" that Mozilla is using to promote Sync is IMHO misleading, especially if a person is using Firefox on one solitary device/ PC. Sync is not intended to be used in that manner.

That said, I would recommend just disabling Sync altogether.
