I'm not sure how Malwarebytes is affecting your use of Firefox. Are you getting a Malwarebytes popup in Firefox that blocks using the browser? That would be odd.

After starting Firefox, could you try:

right-click the Firefox icon on the Windows 10 Task bar and click "Open new window"

Does the new window also mention Malwarebytes or does that one show your regular start/home page?

Any better luck with:

right-click the Firefox icon on the Windows 10 Task bar and click "Open new tab"

Does that show your regular new tab page?

Here is what I get in either window. See below. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Why did we send you here?

Could you check whether your home page changed to that page? This article has the steps to check on and adjust your home page setting: How to set the home page.

Is it possible you have a Malwarebytes add-on in your Firefox that is responsible for this? You can view, disable, and often remove unwanted or unknown extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a (Mac: Command+Shift+a)
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
  • type or paste about:addons in the address bar and press Enter/Return

In the left column of the Add-ons page, click Extensions. On the right side, find the "Manage Your Extensions" heading.

Then cast a critical eye over the list below that heading (you can stop at the "Recommended Extensions" heading). Any extensions Firefox installs for built-in features are hidden from this page, so everything listed here is your choice (and your responsibility) to manage. Anything from Malwarebytes? If you see anything suspicious or that you just do not remember installing (or why), disable (or remove) ir. For your privacy and security, don't let mystery programs linger here.

Any improvement?
