SVG can be used for simple icons, complex technical drawings, or a range of other things, so I don't have any insight into what might be triggering the problem. Do you think it's related to visiting a particular site? If you haven't already, could you test in Firefox's Safe Mode? In its Safe Mode, Firefox temporarily deactivates extensions, hardware acceleration, any userChrome.css/userContent.css files, and some other advanced features to help you assess whether these are causing the problem.
