I tried: Menu, then Options, then Colors, then Only High-Contrast Themes, then clicked OK.

But it just took me right back to the same screen (where i clicked Colors), without displaying a color-wheel from which to choose which BG color i wish.

Text and background colors that you specify in "Options/Preferences" are only applied when the website doesn't specify either or both unless you would select to override the colors, but that has other disadvantages like missing background images that can make buttons hard to notice.

To override visited colors on (specific) websites you can use code in userContent.css.

I couldn't find instructions for overriding visited colors in the reddit link. Anyway, even assume it was there, I couldn't decipher the various content posted on that link.

Some followup questions:

  • I wanted something that would automatically override all visited sites, not just specific ones manually. So its unclear to me what you meant. What about the Stylish Add-on? Would that enable me to choose a pastel color via a wide choice of colors?
  • Are you saying that even if the override-color is a very light-tint, it would still overwrite buttons (etc.etc.?
